Spirituality And Money – In Balance And Harmony Between Spirit And Matter

goby Edith Boyer-Telmer

Dear Friends,
I am sure many of you still remember that the last Taurus New Moon has triggered for our collective awakening process all kind of feelings and themes around material things, our physical body and also old pattern about our finances. In a resent post called
Aligning Our Financial Paradigms For The Golden Age Of Aquarius, I shared that together with the impact of the last Scorpio Full Moon, we are dealing now with internally uniting the fire of our deepest soul desires, with our power to manifest guided by our personal divine blueprint for the Golden Age. So lets find out a bit about the steps we need to make, to one by one transform the old ideas and concepts to a world truly humane to everyone on the planet.

If you ask a Chrystal Child about money and their deepest soul dreams and desires for this world in the Golden Age of Aquarius, you will most likely get the answer that their tendency is that of a world without money at all. Now for some of you that might sound like they are simply unrealistic dreamer, but actually it is a part of their calling to hold the energy for a world so balanced and harmonic, that everybody automatically also gives – when receiving. Which means a world where people are living so pure to the law of brotherhood of men and equality of existence, that nobody has the desire to betray, or nobble their brother.
And does that not actually sound like a good place to live?? And beloved ones when we are talking about changing our paradigms and ways of living, we need to take in account that this world is not ours alone, it belongs to the future generations and all our actions should be aligned to serve the next seven generations on their spiritual quest on planet earth.

A personal message to all my facebook friends!! FB is limiting the distribution of my posts daily more. If you resonate with my articles and are used to find my work  shared in a group, rather sign up on my newsletter here to make sure you get the information!!! Over time I might not be able to put in the FB time, if it does not lead to what it is about – SPREADING THE WORD 😉!letSo when we look at the way we earn our money and what kind of feelings we have about ourselves in our job, than we also need to take in account what kind of impact that has on others. In the old paradigm a father who went of in the morning to go to work and comes home late, long after the actual family time of meeting after school / work / private activities, exchanging about the day, sharing a meal and discussing plans – was a respected figure and had all the support of the family. Partly that was the case because all our life started to be concentrated on earning money, instead of actually living a good and maybe even simple life.
Now this idea is changing, more and more people get the hang of it and see that life is actually about relationships, and how we are standing in relationship to the whole wide world at the end. Money is loosing its power and attraction as a focus for human productivity and more and more souls break free into entrepreneurship and alternative life forms, in order to use their passion and creative powers for positive changes on this magical planet. And don’t get me wrong, its not in particular about the absent fathers, more the focus we had on earning money; giving money a higher importance than our human relationships; abusing, exploring and raping nature for our amusement, comfort and plain consumerism; the absent fathers have simply been a sign of the time – and now its over.

I am sure all of you have heard the phrase “time is money” before. It is a saying many success trainer and manger in the co-operative money world love using. At the same time it might be that you heard spiritual teacher and adviser say, that money and self-love is the same thing. So how does that go together.
Well spiritually that is easily explained. While the idea in the western world is that of pure masculine energy, combined with the illusion that constant productivity would be possible; the divine side of us understands that – when  we make ourselves so vulnerable to spiral down form a place of total divine bliss, just to become human beings – than we are taken care of by heavens above and should take good care of this physical body we received in return. Lack is a state of illusion – we all can have the shelter, food & clothing we need for a safe and happy life on the physical plane.
Embrace your duality as oneness, and you will never have to worry about money anymore, while you will also not get attached to the things money can buy in this world!!1Dear Ones, I hope this makes you feel inspired to create a new relationship with money and your finances today. I hope you find new ways of evaluating what you truly need and desire, and that you than have the authenticity to spend your money on this things! By the way, according to scientific studies – people who spend their money on experience, personal growth and situations that lead to inner expansion, are proven to be much happier than people who “go shopping”!!! Maybe you wan to take that in account too ;-). In my understanding, money really never had the capacity to make us happy, but in this moment of time it can help us manifest the future we desire for the collective wealth of all beings on planet earth!
Love and Abundant Finances;-)!

Aligning Our Financial Paradigms For The Golden Age Of Aquarius

by Edith Boyer-Telmer

Dear Friends,
the peek of the resent Taurus New Moon has barely past, and as it looks like many people where busy unveiling their personal pattern around love relationships and how unconditionally they are truly capable to love in this moment. But that was not the only theme that collectively was triggered by the Moon, the was also everything material, our body awareness /care and our relationship with money. And if we than zoom back to the impact of the last Scorpio Full Moon, we are talking about uniting all this with the fire of our deepest soul desires, so we manifest guided by our personal divine blueprint for the Golden Age of Aquarius.

So lets take a look at what that means when it comes to finances. We need to align our money pattern with the moral essence of the Native American Code of Ethics. We need to seek a deeper understanding, how the way we earn our money impacts others. And as I mentioned before, especially people on a spiritual path might find themselves confronted with the need to show authentic ethics and humanity in their daily business.
In this moment there are many theories around how humanity and the idea of money will continue. On one hand we still need to face collectively all the pain created thru false behavior, on the other hand we might need some ideas and role models to focus our faith. Below you find ten quotes from wise people who understood one or the other detail about handling their finances ethically.

Capital as such is not evil; it is its wrong use that is evil. Capital in some form or other will always be needed.
Gandhi

“Your real wealth is discovered through the reclamation of spirit. It is not counted in how many assets, friends and pleasures you have acquired in life. All of these are constantly threatened and are easily lost. But the reclamation of knowledge cannot be lost unless it is neglected or denied, and even then it will abide with you and go with you wherever you go.”
— Wisdom from the Greater Community

“Live simply. Only own that which you need and perhaps a few little things for your personal enjoyment. Fundamentally, own only what you truly need and there will be no confusion, and you will not have to work too hard for money. Give money to support those things that inspire you. They require support, and you need to support them to experience your relationship with them.”
— Living the Way of Knowledge

If money is your hope for independence you will never have it. The only real security that a man will have in this world is a reserve of knowledge, experience, and ability.
– Henry Ford

“Remember, money is here to serve. You do not want to serve it. Money is a resource to be employed. It is here to serve. You do not want to become its servant. What does money serve for you? How do you use money? Do you preserve money and save it for future use? Do you live according to what you need or are you dominated by what you want? Perhaps you are working too hard in your work in the world because you are requiring more money than you really need. Perhaps you have to work harder in the world because you need more than you have. You must find what is correct for you. However, to be able to find what is correct, you must know what is correct, and you must have the necessary criteria.”

Money is only a tool. It will take you wherever you wish, but it will not replace you as the driver.
– Ayn Rand

I don’t pay good wages because I have a lot of money; I have a lot of money because I pay good wages.
– Robert Bosch

The conclusion is, when we are brave enough to let go of financial survival fears and concepts, and give ourselves over to the loving guidance of our heart and soul, money flows naturally and effortless to us – as a logical result of this self-love and faith!!

Dear Ones, I hope this quotes and mental connections will help you create a new relationship with money and your financial safety, worthy of the Golden Age of Aquarius. Step up your game, and dig deep enough into self-love to free your memory from what every your financial past is holding. So keep grasping the bull at the horns, and take charge of your finances today!! Money never had the capacity to make us happy, but in this moment of time it can help us manifest the future we desire for the collective wealth of all beings on planet earth!
Love and Financial Blessings ;-)!

6 Spirit Guides From The Animal Kingdom That Enjoy Mating For Life

ghby Edith Boyer-Telmer

Dear Friends,
yesterday after sharing my article on
How Indigenous Wisdom, Shamanism, Environmentalism & Our Awakening Meet” I ran into this beautiful post from the White Wolf Pack page, about 10 animals who mate for life. Now some of you might remember  that the last Taurus New Moon brought us the energy field and possibility for a love that lasts. So reading about the beloved animal kingdoms representatives who mate for life, it was immediately visible that 6 out of the 10 examples are also animals well known as helper for humanity. Day by day now, we are collectively tapping deeper into the awareness that we share our reality not only with other people, but also with the Animal Kingdom. More and more people receive messages by the other world, transported by animal spirits.

A personal message to all my facebook friends!! FB is limiting the distribution of my posts daily more. If you resonate with my articles and are used to find my work  shared in a group, rather sign up on my newsletter here to make sure you get the information!!! Over time I might not be able to put in the FB time, if it does not lead to what it is about – SPREADING THE WORD ;-)!

Over the last few month the spirit guides and angelic realm have dropped hints, that we collectively need to make a deeper inner connection with mother earth and our own human nature. With this profounder union in our bones and the chances for love that lasts, I am happy to introduce you to the characteristics of six animal spirit guides that enjoy having a mate for life!wol1.) The Wolfs
One of the most outstanding qualities of the Wolf is the ability of community building. Wolf packs are socially smart, deeply structured and highly organized animal communities. Indeed the wolf can energetically transmit to us, the understanding how Brotherhood of Men works, when we take the deeper animal nature of human beings into account. They can teach us how to stand our ground and defend our boundaries in an appropriate, not hurtful and clear way. An expression that still allows us to keep by heart relaying to another, when our opinions and personal needs go apart. Qualities we need if we want to ground a “love that lasts”. Wolfs have an air of inner freedom to them, even that they are deeply loyal and emotional intelligent in their relationships. Skills we need for the Golden Age of Love!1A_12.) The Eagles
Eagles are messenger from the divine blueprint of our spiritual path on planet earth. Well known about this animals usual behavior is, that when trouble come down on us on planet earth, they simply rise and soar above all clouds. With this strength, they are helping us to develop states of higher consciousness, higher powers of communication and the ability to listen carefully to our intuition. Supported by the eagle medicine we are empowered to deeply ground our spiritual awareness, to purify our energy field and cleans old believe pattern. The eagle reminds us to integrate the awareness of the Hermetic Laws in our life, that all things material are build from the mind.beaver3.) The Beavers
Beaver are the ingenious builder and constructor of new realities with stable foundations. They are representing the power how to step by step come from visions, burning desires, soul dream and insights; to an as stable experienced reality, that represents all this guidance in our life. They give us the encouragement and inspiration that we need, in order to reach our deepest desires and soul goals. Beaver are big team player in general, maybe that is why they have happy marriages ;-). They know how to make everyone in the team feel appreciated, respected and used according to their personal skills. Quite important abilities to develop for humanity too, in the collective awakening process.coyote4.) The Coyotes
Personally I love the Coyote energy. I called my first dog Coyote for his cheeky character and childlike playfulness, even in old age. The Coyote is the clown of the nature realms, known for his trickster, shape-shifter, and transformer qualities. The Coyote tells us to be mindful of the impact of the hermetic laws in our actions. To raise our awareness for the inner self-sabotage system, that allows us to play tricks on ourselves and others (the illusion of Maya). Coyote also reminds us that the consequences of our actions effect more than just ourselves, as we are truly one on this planet and beyond. In his playful ways, he brings along endings and new beginnings, and therefor represents the cycle of life and death in nature.ra5.) The Ravens
The Ravens are representatives of the divine magic within the material world. They bring us higher awareness of the divine balance between the light and the dark side of existence. Wise as they are, they are master of the time and space continuum. A bridge between the underworld, the present moment on planet earth and the spirit realms. When in tune with the ravens medicine, we are moving through transitions and changes of consciousness more smoothly and from a place of inner ease. Profound healing created by the renewal of our energy are possible under the influence of the raven power. condor6.) The Condors/New World Vultures
The vulture is all about rising to higher awareness, patience and resourcefulness. Like most of us, vultures like eating well, but they do not hunt! What they know to do best, it to seizes the chances and resources that show themselves as available. From them we can learn how to go from “working hard” for our dreams and soul desires; to allowing them to present themselves to us!! When we have the passion and clarity to plant our seeds well, the vulture medicine will help us develop the patience it takes, to receive. When we are about to develop new abilities or projects, the vulture is also bringing message to make sure we check our core values before we call new beginnings into manifestation! Vultures have well developed physical senses. They can smell fresh meat from miles away and have highly advanced vision. Connecting with the vulture medicine remembers us to trust our body, to also develop our higher physical senses and become one with nature within.

Dear Ones, I hope you enjoy this insides and find maybe also some guidance for your personal path in them. I hope you are motivated and will have fun developing a relationship with the animal spirit guides. Let your body teach you, motivated by the animal kingdoms loving guidance!
Love and Nature Blessings!!

Are You A Truly Spiritual Person – Or Simply Full Of It

guihjby Edith Boyer-Telmer

Dear Friends,
just some days ago, I shared in my post about the Food Project “Konojel”, that in my wonderful second home; San Marcos La Laguna, Solola, in Guatemala; we are living in a wild mix of world people. The San Marcos population is made up of original Mayan people from the tribe of the Kaqckikel, and a colorful mix of foreigners from all countries of the world. Many of this people consider themselves part of the New Age Scene, a tribal movement or travel the world as alternative healer. Life styles and philosophies of all kinds are practiced in our little town, bringing the positive and the negative side of a spiritual life to the surface. So when I ran into this article raising the question, how much spirituality is truly translated in divine actions in the many new awakening movements, I felt like this is truly worth questioning
!!! Let me know what you think, and what type of feelings this article has created in you! I hope you enjoy the read!!
Miraculous Self-Discoveries and
Blessings ;-)!

Edith

This is an expect from the article “sei-spirituale-o-pieno-di-te-stesso”, written & translated by Giulio Pietro Benati
We hear it all the time: “I am spiritual, but not religious.” Recent human history has probably seen more conversions to spirituality than any other era. However, what does it mean, “being spiritual”? I grew up an atheist, with the certainty that religion was the opiate of the masses. The Catholic Church, in particular, looked evil to me: opulent, false, opportunist. It burned witches, molested children, and fought holy wars against imaginary enemies.
However, I felt an inner calling to look for something more than sheer matter. That’s why I started to seek. I found a yoga school in Thailand that taught me several techniques meant for the attainment of the infinite without the need for any divinity (or, at least, that’s what I thought). At that school, I observed that for many people spirituality means practicing yoga, reading books about self-development, and speaking about being spiritual. Even at that time, I felt that something was wrong with this idea of spirituality (which I considered really shallow) compared to the lives of the saints and mystics who followed many genuine ascetic traditions.
Today, when I take a look around, I can only confirm what I saw seven years ago.5681“Being spiritual,” according to the latest New Age trends, often includes everything that I said above, plus some other ingredients like dressing up as a “spiritual person” and sharing a “spiritual look” on Facebook or becoming vegan/vegetarian and pointing the finger at anyone who is not.
Appearance overcomes essence, facade overcomes truth, and falsehood pervades everything.
I don’t want to say that doing yoga is something bad. It is totally appropriate to follow yogic principles if you follow them with honesty and compassion, just as you are perfectly entitled to have faith in Jesus Christ, Buddha, or Muhammad if you live with the open heart that a true seeker should have.
The bad thing is if, on the other hand, you hide behind yoga or religion in order to justify all the shit you spread around. I’m strongly convinced that an aggressive attitude against non-vegan people masks the same tendencies that brought about the Inquisition and the burning of witches in the name of God!

Substituting One Dogma for Another
Many seekers leave their parents’ religions just to substitute one dogma for another. Instead of considering pre-marital sex a sin, they consider eating sugar, not recycling, or using a car instead of a bike sinful. As in the past, the fundamental tenets of a genuine spiritual path (truthfulness, freedom, and unconditional love) are lost along the way. In other words, the everlasting happiness independent of the external world is overlooked.
And sometimes, that spark of the Infinite that you tasted makes you feel special, favored. Suddenly, you are right and the rest of the world is wrong. You are the special child of God, your path is the unique, authentic one and anyone who doesn’t follow it is making a mistake (and, even if they are following it, you are doing it better!). Chanting Sanskrit mantras, not cursing, always being kind (even if it’s a false kindness), having symbolic tattoos, and becoming vegan are not true signs of spirituality.
However, this is exactly what the vast majority of “spiritual people” do nowadays, thinking that this is enough to be elevated, special, and dear in God’s eyes. They think these actions make them better than the rest of the world. Obviously, I don’t think that every single person who walks the spiritual path today is doing it so blindly. There are undoubtedly people who are sincerely seeking the Absolute in their lives. However, from what I have observed in my (short) experience, an overwhelming majority of those who define themselves as spiritual have a very distorted conception of themselves and of the path they are walking.khkjiThe Spiritual Path Is the Path of the Common Man
If you are REALLY spiritual, allow yourself to simply be you. This “spiritual you” should be kind, compassionate, and gentle (although it is said that many mystical people have tremendous personalities 😉 !). Take care not to fall into the trap of dogma; you don’t have to fight to be like that. You don’t have to force yourself to be spiritual. Even more, you don’t have to strive to appear spiritual. You are already spiritual! These virtues are already in you!
What you have to do is simply decondition yourself and recognize the truth deeply embedded in yourself. This is what the spiritual path should be—simply the search for your true nature. Spirituality simply means to be authentic with yourself and others. Pay attention, though. It is not easy to be authentic! In my whole life, I have met very few people who are truly authentic. Being authentic means being open, not being afraid of the judgment of others, trusting in the universe. It means to believe.

How To Chose The Right Person To Assist You On Your Awakening Path

spiritual-teacherby Edith Boyer-Telmer

Dear Friends,
during the last few month of the year 2015 of personal power and abundance, an increased amount of political-, religious-,  spiritual-, and community leader all over the planet have been accused of abusive behavior on emotional-, financial and sexual level. The energies created by the collective awakening of humanity and the frequencies that had been building up to the collective cleansing of the first chakra we experienced, have provided the forces needed to unveil many second agendas of our world power figures.
So how to find the right person when you feel a little in need of direction, in a world where spiritual teacher seem to be available on every street corner these days?? Depending on our personal path of awakening, it can be very helpful for a certain period of time, if we join a group and practices our mind-body-emotion-spirit awareness with others. A challenge appears, when a strong attachment is build and a person gets stuck in the feeling of needing the teacher, the cult, the guru or the group – in order to feel their own divine connection. Any to close identification with the personality of the groups leader/teacher would then become an obstacle for our awakening, self-empowerment and enlightenment.

The following list is created to clarify some common perceptions, for a better chance to recognize authentic spiritual teacher. If you are seeking guidance in this moment, I hope this article serves you as a guideline to attract the right fit!aaDo you feel selflessness in your teachers service?
A helpful teacher is one, that does not need emotional support or positive feedback from the people he/she is sharing their knowledge with. Generally serving other people means serving in a way, that truly benefits the receiver. The teacher is payed by your financial compensation and the personal growth that is naturally coming from holding space for others. If you feel your teacher emotionally-, mentally or spiritually being in need of your approval  – WALK AWAY!!

Do you feel your teacher lives his/her life with intention?
Creating life with intention – is living life with purpose. People who live their life intentionally are in charge of their own destiny and understand how co-creation with the universe works. Traits very helpful when operating as a teacher.
A sign of intentional living is mindfulness! You can see a mindful mindset in the way  a person  talks to you. In the way your words are received, processed and responded to. Also recognize mindfulness in the way people move their body or touch and treat things. Pay attention to what your gut feeling is telling you!

Does your teacher integrate in his/her life what he/she teaches?
Don’t be shy to ask a potential teacher how they live their lives. Ask if the techniques and mindset they teach, is also the way they live. Is the leaders personal practice similar to the teachings they share?
Do they practice to stay in a constant contact with their own divine guidance? Authentic teachers serve as vehicles for higher consciousness. In order to be able to do so, a strong and steady connection with their own personal guides is mandatory.

Does you teacher continue to grow him/her self?
Mastering your personal energy includes a deep understanding of the immortality of our soul, traveling the spiral dance of creation. In such a dance, there is no beginning and no end – while here on earth we constantly experience the death of a situation, relationship, physical thing, in order to have the chance for a new beginning.
A wise person understands to translate that fact into constant, self-chosen growth. People on the path of self-mastery seek daily practice, for the sake of never ending spiritual, mental and emotional growth.

aaaDo you hear humility in your teachers words?
Humility is emerges, when we understand our true powerful greatness as creating human beings – and put it in the right proportion to the greatness of the universe, the divine plan, the forces of the elements and the power of divine love. In the life of Jesus Christ, we can see such authentic humility. A person so powerful – so connected to his golden I AM presence – that he could heal instantly AND so small, he never felt to superior to serve another human being in need, with his outstanding abilities.
So, humility is not so much about not having anything or charging money or the amount of compensation you pay for received services – it is about experiencing bliss, gratitude and contentment in having the capacity to serve in this world! This are true signs of authentic spiritual humility. If you find a person like that – make yourself a bed in their backyard!!

Can you feel an attachment free approach in your teachers work?
The world we live in functions on a divine level – under the law of detachment. This law says:
Already when something starts, it is perfect;
Who shows up is exactly who is supposed to be there;
What happens is the only thing that possibly can happen;
And when it is over – it is over….
So what does that mean? It means, that working with the soul and the other world is always a non predictable situation. So non-attachment is about accepting what ever the outcome of or work is. It is important that you feel free with the person who serves you as teacher. That you feel they are ok with what ever you decide for your healing, your next step, your personal path. Conclusion: a person, who serves as an authentic spiritual teacher, should not add to your inner pressure with expectations or demands about your personal growth process .encourage aDo you feel free to ask questions and post constructive critic?
A truthful teacher will always be interested in answering your questions. At the same time – it is in your teachers hands and responsibility, to only give you as much information at a time, as you can handle. Nobody is served with a total overload on news that can not be taken in. A good teacher will feel when it is the right time, to give you the next piece – the next layer of information. That’s the job! And, nobody is perfect – we are all human beings who make mistakes or can be misunderstood. An authentic teacher will not have a problem when you are sharing constructive feedback. To the opposite – if you tell them how they can help you even better, how they can communicate even clearer or reach your heart easily – they will be thankful for the chance to adjust their service and grow from it!
If your teacher only offers his/her support if you are joining an exclusive community, a special tribe or a cult-like group that has been formed around them, than check the facts well!! Make sure their teaching do not involve manipulation and control of the members and their mindset.

Dear Ones, I hope this simple guidelines can be of help for you, if you are looking out for an authentic person to help you make the next step in your personal development!! Where ever you are in this beautiful world – I wish you authentic, kind and playful guidance from loving and wise teacher on this side of the veil, and from your spirit guides from the other world!
Blessings and Happy Awakening!!

Living A Life Of Authentic Happiness & Inner Freedom

408817_225087160907637_1869227508_nby Edith Boyer-Telmer

Dear Friends,
many of you, who are reading my posts on a regular level are aware, that as so many people with strong abilities, I have not had an easy life from the beginning on. Coming from a family quite violent in character, I was not known as a happy, balanced or free person. In times I was battling with suicidal thoughts and with depression and felt deeply separated or isolated in my inner world. Watching other people who took life quite easy and seamed not to feel as deeply as I, I wondered what it would be like to unleash my own inner happy, free and uncensored ME.
Its not that I was a child that did not speak up or did not do wild things, indeed I brought myself into situations dangerous and overwhelming all the time, but I did not feel any authentic happiness or true personal freedom coming from it. It was more about facing fears and being confronted with the dark side of life and collective human behavior. But over the years of my spiritual path I managed to connect with forces like the Ascended Master Ling and trained myself to feel happy for waking up every morning and having another chance to live!

Here is a list of things I found helpful in the creation of true authentic inner happiness:
1. Create a simple list of things that you enjoy
Modern everyday life is so full of demands on us, that often the self-care is what falls short at the end. When you write yourself a little love letter with all the simple things that make you happy and that you want to do a bit more for yourself. If you keep the list on your fridge or nightstand, you might remember more often to sweeten your life with this simple pleasures. suryanamaskar2. Move your body
Find someway of movement that makes you happy, is easy to repeat and does not need a lot of preparation to start with. For me it is dancing Salsa on my own. I love the music and the many different speeds Salsa is available in. I let the whole house vibrate from the beats and dance the basic steps thru the kitchen, living room and garden, while I am fulfilling my household tasks ;-). Or maybe you like the stretching and relaxation that you feel during a yoga practice? A quick walk in the park with deep connected breathing and conscious steps? What ever you choose, make sure to consciously store the happiness and freedom it makes you feel, so you can take it back home and sway in it.

3. Eat fresh and organic food
Our body is the vessel for our soul to come thru and express our soul into the world. If our nutrition is based on junk food and precooked foods with tons of chemicals and we don’t care to eat GMO food, we simply don’t give the body what it takes to bring forward the true spiritual being that we are. So go simple, go organic, go fresh!!! And – give your children healthy foods too!! It has to be organic not just natural, there is a labeling trick build in to the term natural!! That way your physical body can hold the light of your soul more easily, and this light is the storage for divine bliss!!

4. Practice the virtue of patience
On a spiritual level, patience represents the ability of sitting in circumstances of emotional and energetic, physical or spiritual discomfort, without complaining to the universe about it. Which means when in stress, not also freaking out about it!! Don’t rush through the day!! One of the quickest killer of happiness is rushing and losing the ability to see the many little beautiful blessings offered to us on the way!!sa5. Spend at least 15 minutes the day in the sun
Well-documented research shows there is a relationship between low vitamin D levels and poor health, such as frail bones, multiple sclerosis and prostate cancer. Our physical body needs vitamin D! And it is the sun that provides this Vitamin in the most natural form. Also, light that is hitting your skin and your eyes, helps reverse seasonal effective disorders – so think about finding a way to enjoy sunlight, especially now when the days are getting shorter and colder. Let the sunshine in, so you can shine your light back at it!!

Dear Friends, I hope my words serve you as motivation and encouragement on your personal path to authentic happiness and inner freedom!! May you create the most beautiful relationship with your inner child and allow it to lead you to the freedom of the innocent heart!!  So much can be achieved in this world, by the joyful, relaxed and lighthearted approach of the playful responsible child!!!

More Things To Understand When You Fall In Love With An Old Soul

cby Edith Boyer-Telmer

Dear Friends,
the other day I was send this article about falling in love with an old soul. It made me laugh as I was remembered of a time, when some new friends of mine and me came up with the idea of printing T-Shirts with the slogan “my soul is old than yours”, because we where so over the pseudo spiritual behavior some people in town showed. It was just for fun – a little insider joke – but it turned out to be true, that so many of the people involved back than where old souls.
You know, for reasons of the geographic powers and the winds at Lake Atitlan, our little place is a high powered energy vortex that attracts a lot of Indigo and Crystal Children, Highly Sensitive and Empathic Beings. And many people have incarnated with this personality traits, because they are old souls, here to support the collective awakening process of human kind into the Golden Age of Aquarius. I liked the authors voice and honesty, and I felt like adding some details to the descriptions. You find them in the orange sections. Hope you enjoy and find valuable news or confiramtions!!

1 Simplicity
It’s the simple things in life that capture us. Simple living and simple pleasures in life ground us and make us feel all warm and cozy inside. Extravagant dinners, jewelry, and sparkly gifts may be the key to some people’s hearts but not an old soul. Impressing us is so simple, it’s scary. An intimate conversation on the beach with a candle or a night of camping under the stars is like heaven on earth. Give us experiences and most of all, give us your time…
Old souls somehow seam to have a deeper feeling for the profound value that our lifetime has. As old souls are coming with an often very clear and loud vibrating soul purpose, we are stronger aware that our time and undivided attention is definitely the biggest present we can share with others. So truly being together feeds our souls with love.

2 Alone time
Old souls are pretty intense, spiritual people. It’s not a facade or front we put up, but a lifestyle we live to stay connected to ourselves and to our spiritual path. Time to decompress, detach and meditate are crucial to our well being. So if we turn down an invite to a bar once in awhile, don’t take it personal. Instead, understand our need to be with ourselves because there is probably a reason we are needing some alone time.
So many of us old souls are born as highly sensitive people, empathic people or introverts and this personality traits make us more vulnerable to peoples energies. So when there are big shifts going on and people are unstable in their emotions, we sometimes have to retreat. Because not only do we need alone time to stay connected to ourselves, we need it to not fall sick.
xz3 Dreamer
As most people only dream when they sleep, we dream constantly. Daydream that is. Sometimes we need a partner to snap us back into reality, but also one who understands our dreaming is what excites us, dreaming inspires us.
But that is not all it does for us, many old souls are actually very capable dream creator. That mean while we are laying lazy at the beach, dreaming pretty things for life, we have the capacity to channel the energetic vibration this dream creates into our personal energy field. Later on in life this things become easily reality for us. The more we are aware of this process, the deeper the results.

4 Romantics
ahh, sigh– We love romance and everything that comes with it. Sometimes, expecting a little too much from people trying to win our affections. This can cause some let downs and learning experiences for both partners. Old souls need someone that can pull them out from the clouds when needed and bring them back to a beautiful reality.
Well here we are not quite aligned with our opinions. While I can totally confirm, that most of the old souls I met are really big romantics (even that the way they show it is often received as weird and sometime awkward), I do not agree on needing the other to come back to reality. As old souls our collective job is to grow up fast and take personal responsibility. So it is on us to learn to feel romance, while we have our feed well rooted in the ground!!

5 Comfort
I’ve always felt like the “grandma” of my friend group. Throwing on a big comfy sweater, staying in to cook dinner, and snuggling up while someone reads to me would be like, so amazing. Going out is good here and there, but know for us, being comfy with our significant other takes the cake.
In my experience feeling comfortable with somebody else is not only limited to physical relaxation. For an old soul it is mainly important, that we feel emotionally and energetically safe with the other. As our sensitivity demands from us during the day, to be on our toes not to get overwhelmed by other peoples feelings, it is double important for us to have people at home who act self-responsible with their own challenges. ,,6 Free birds
We want freedom. Freedom to chase whatever is worth chasing to us. Nothing holding us back or stopping us from pursuing our dreams and desires. Rather, someone who encourages us to chase and to succeed. Aside from longing for a stable and simple life, we want room to grow and follow whatever path our spirit is leading us to.
That does not mean we are not capable of deep commitment or faithfulness in our love relationships, just about the opposite. Give an old soul the unlimited space to explore their own being, and they will be totally yours. And they will always come running back to you like happy children, excited to share their story and feelings with you.

7 An unusual approach to life
Not really conforming to the expected way of living, we view the world and our lives as a blank book and we want to write it. I definitely have very philosophical views and it deeply effects all of my relationships. Being with someone who likes that about us is key!
And it is literally build into our brain. Like I sad before, so many old souls are Indigo’s or Crystals and this people have a brain that is differently weird than the collective. That makes perfectly sense within the bigger plan, as we are supposed to be the ones who are dreaming the Golden Age of Humanity into reality, as our collective job!!

8 Not-so material world
Possessions and money are nice, but it is not number one for us. Intellectual conversations and meaningful experiences is what takes our breath away…
By all means, deep connection, honest exchange and gentle communication is more important to old souls than goods, but the world is also a material one. And as we are mostly occupied with rooming around in the energetic realms but still take care of the material, it is equally important not to be with a partner that brings either financial insecurity or a state of “having too much” into the mix!!enlightened_universe_final9 Intuition
You may hear this a lot from an old soul, “I don’t know, I just have this feeling.” Following our hearts more than our minds makes us a bit more in touch with our intuitive side. You can either go with the flow or turn and run, intuitive people can be a bit intimidating. It can be very daunting to some, to have an intuitive partner…especially if the significant other is trying to be sly. Good luck!
And there I think is self-responsibility the most important thing to be aware of!! Personally I have not met an old soul that can be in a true love relationship with a person who is trying to play false or has second agendas. Like I mentioned above, we need to feel safe with the once we share our life with, and people who are dishonest make us go out of balance!! So if want to love an old soul, be brutally honest with them! And if you are an old soul, don’t betray your intuition for a cozy moment on the sofa!! Be patient and true to yourself, and the right someone will come!!

10 We’ve got dreams, big dreams
Idealistic dreams of painting the world like our very own canvas. Ending world hunger or starting a business that benefits people in some positive way is not far from an old souls list of lofty ideas. Helping mankind is on our dreamy To Do List!
Just that they are no random dreams, but the soul contracts we made to be part of the collective awakening process of human kind. So many of the people who are now in their mid 20s to mid 30s are truly the once who will change this world!!

Dear Ones, I hope this insides into the inner world of old souls has given enough information to either identify yourself as such, or identify your partner, friends, family members as such! If you find one or the other of your clan members being an old soul, than this words might give you more clarity about what your beloved ones truly need.
Blessings and Old Soul Love!  Edith

7 traits to identify authentic spiritual teacher

buddhist,monk,student,teacher,sri lanka-MDear Friends,
over the last few month of collective unveiling, that is happening with the secrets of our world power figures and the secret societies, I met an extraordinary big number of people – who felt betrayed and abused or effected by the abuse of spiritual teacher that they had met. For a reason unknown to me, in all this cases it was a swami, guru, community leader or yoga guru from India – but that does not mean, that spiritual abuse is only happening there.
How ever, it is anyway a virtue of the spiritual path to see behind the veil of representation, appearance and seduction. Time to step up, learn how to separate winnow from wheaten and choose the leader who guide us on our path of enlightenment, from a place of clarity and self-empowerment!!!

At this moment of time, in some regions of the planet, spiritual teacher seem to be available on every street corner you pass . Many of these teacher offer a solution that involves joining an exclusive community, a special tribe or a cult-like group that has been formed around a so-called spiritual teacher. The message is: “join my community (and sometimes: pay me large amounts of money) and enlightenment will surely be yours”, when in reality it is often a trap that involves manipulation and control of the members and their mindset.
For a certain period of time it is beneficial for most people, if they join a group and practices their mind-body-emotion awareness with others. The challenge appears, when a strong attachment is build and a person gets stuck in the feeling of needing the teacher, the cult, the guru – in order to feel their own divine connection. Any to close identification with the personality of the group leaders/teachers will then become an obstacle on the path of attaining self-empowerment and to reach everlasting enlightenment.

The following list should clear up with some common perceptions, for a better chance to recognize authentic spiritual teacher. If you are seeking guidance of a spiritual teacher in this moment, than I hope this article serves you as a guideline to find the right fit!

Do you feel selflessness in your teachers service?

A helpful teacher is one, that does not need emotional support or positive feedback from the people he/she is sharing their knowledge with. Generally serving other people means serving in a way, that truly benefits the receiver. The teacher is payed by your financial compensation and the personal growth that is naturally coming from holding space for others. If you feel you teacher emotionally-, mentally or spiritually being in need of your approval  – WALK AWAY!!

Do you feel your teacher lives his/her life with intention?

Creating life with intention – is living life with purpose. People who live their life intentionally are in charge of their own destiny and understand how co-creation with the universe works. Traits very helpful when functioning as a teacher.

Is the person’s personal practice similar to the teachings they share?
Do they practice to stay in a constant contact with their own divine guidance? Authentic teachers serve as vehicles for higher consciousness. In order to be able to do so, a strong and steady connection with their own personal guides is mandatory.

Does you teacher continue to grow him/her self?

Mastering your personal energy includes a deep understanding of our immortal soul, traveling the spiral dance of creation. In such a dance, there is no beginning and no end – while here on earth we constantly experience the death of a situation, relationship, physical thing, in order to have the chance for a new beginning.
A wise person understands to translate that fact into constant, self-chosen growth. People on the path of self-mastery seek daily practice, for the sake of never ending spiritual, mental and emotional growth.

download (2)Do you hear humility in your teachers words?

Humility is achieved, when we understand our true powerful greatness as creating human beings – and put it in the right proportion to the greatness of the universe, the divine plan, the forces of the elements and the power of divine love.
In the life of Jesus Christ, we can see such authentic humility. A person so powerful – so connected to his golden I AM presence – that he could heal instantly AND so small, he never felt to superior to serve another human being in need, with his outstanding abilities. So, humility is not about money or the compensation you pay for received services – it is about experiencing bliss, gratitude and contentment in having the capacity to serve in this world!
This are true signs of authentic spiritual humility. If you find a person like that – make yourself a bed in their backyard!!

Can you feel an attachment free approach in your teachers work?

The world we live in functions on a divine level – under the law of detachment. This law says: Already when it started it was perfect; Who showed up is exactly who was supposed to be there; What happened is the only thing that possible could happen; And when it is over – it is over….
Conclusion: a person, who serves as an authentic spiritual teacher, should not add to your inner pressure with expectations or demands about your personal growth process .

Do you feel free to ask questions and post constructive input?

Where ever you are in this beautiful world – I wish you authentic, kind and playful guidance from loving people on this side of the veil and your spirit guides from the other world!
Blessings and happy new beginnings to you!!

Why not to take Ayahuasca?

Sanango , Izabal, Guatemala

aya

Thank you so much hermano Sanango from the Sinchi Runa Center in Izabal, for this beautiful article. I totally agree with him on the need for a good preparation, a deep personal understanding of the process, a good mental and physical health state and lots and lots of transparency in the communication with the facilitator/assistant. Each of this parts are important for the success of a session. For the integration I watched the following: with every day you spend in a loving self-embrace; with smoothing, self-love evoking, balancing and harmonizing music; breathing deeply and consciously, while planting seeds of positive thought pattern – the deeper roots of your past (this and every other life on the spiral dance of creation), your destructive pattern and emotional body, the medicine can reach and shift in vibration. This can go on for days and days after the ceremonial encounter – totally depending on your invested degree of awareness, attention, devotion, surrender and passion. REMEMEBER – we talk about engaging in a relationship with a spirit!
I saw similarity in our few about finding the right helper match, which made me smile. I believe in guidance and the good of obeying the free will! So for me it is: 1st let the medicine call you! Feel a pull – in best case more than one’s – feel attracted, sense passion that comes from within, sense nervousness similar to stage fright….All of this are excellent signs of a “call” from your spirit guides. As next step, you can take full responsibility for yourself by clearing deep inside, what you might need in your servant. From there you are well equipped, to choose – from the heart – your work partner for the process. As a last step: with your feet on the ground, make a leap of faith, trust your choice of person and trust the process! 🙂
I found myself laughing out loud, when he calls the Ayahuasca a “des hallucinatory substance” :-).. AHO – I soooo agree!! The nice colors, the geometries and sounds are lovely and amazing also very good for the emotional body – as they are of high vibration and can fill up our “feel good account”. But they are barely a blue print of each individuals soul potential . A blueprint that wants to be manifested into our materialized world – in the alchemical wedding of your spirit in human action. The deep healing, the creational existence of self, the endlessness, we find in the layers beyond.
Isn’t it funny, that even the physical body in compressed form proves to contain 99% emptiness :-)…

Love and Blessings
Edith

There are many indications against taking ayahuasca. At the physical level, the most important is a major cardiovascular disorder. Problems could be caused not so much through the biochemical action of the brew, but through the stress caused by the intense work or circumstance that might come with the session. An ayahuasca session is a great opportunity, but demands a lot of mental and physical strength, for which it is important to have a history free of cardiovascular complications.

At the mental level, there are individuals with serious emotional problems that may hinder the dynamic of the session. These emotional problems can be expressed in daily life by uncontrollable impulses, states of explosive anger or deep states of loss of control. If the participant suffers from so-called black outs or have been diagnosed with a psychiatric mental disorder, a prior personal consultation is needed before the session to evaluate the inner state.

Moreover, there are situations such as addictions or consumption of psychiatric drugs to take into account. If the participant is using any kind of substance, it is very important to have a prior detoxification period. This is preferably done in the center that will realize the ayahuasca session. The use of substances such as cocaine or dopamine stimulants requires a detox period that can vary from 15 to 30 days before the intake of the plant. If the participant discards this indication and wishes to attend a session without disclosing data regarding these issues, it signifies a lack of understanding. Such a participant does not realize the type of medicine that ayahuasca is and will not be ready to participate in a session.

The attitude of the participant seeking their own search for truth, trust, transparency towards himself and to the process, is the most important thing in front of an ayahuasca session or any kind of spiritually based healing.
If the participant is not clear of what type of process he is approaching and has information based only through the impact of online videos, seeking a psychedelic experience or only expecting to receive lights and colorful shapes that can cause great excitement. If the expectation is a spectacular trip or a magic potion, the participant should not drink ayahuasca.

It is important to understand that the mission and spirit of ayahuasca is to heal through comprehension. The great opportunity of humanity with this entheogen is to surpass the barrier of the mind and go beyond the illusion of the state of alertness to obtain wisdom of the universe.
Ayahuasca is not an hallucinogen, is a des hallucinatory substance. Ayahuasca is a portal to the essence of humanity, a portal where memories of the species can be opened. This opening can bring understanding of the higher self and the purpose of each one, not only as an individual, but as humanity. Ayahuasca is a chance to heal the soul and reach the truth that lives within each one.

It is very important that the guide is honest and truthful. Do not take ayahuasca with guides who have new age speeches or messianic ideas. Make sure that the guide or facilitator is not improvising and that has really done a deep work of personal comprehension or a discipular spiritual path. It is advisable to analyze the ethical level of the guide or facilitator, the profusion of “shamans”, “avatars”, “guardians of the medicine” and other bizarre characters is something to avoid when choosing where and with whom to take ayahuasca. An apparent native guide or facilitator does not guarantee anything. Not be swayed by prejudice or pre concepts, neither believe in “shamans”, “natives”, who lives in cities or that are characters full of names or egotistical self-imposed titles.

If you have financial constraints, it is best to wait to fix them. Never make a decision based on finding the cheapest option. Do not trust sessions that only ask for a “collaboration” or are “free”, these are usually desperate acts of the guide or facilitator and is generally a lack of transparency. It is recommended to not do sessions carried out in cities or proceeding from them, in which the guide or facilitator is a multi-task professional.

ayahuasca

A genuine ayahuasca ceremony requires a prior preparation, a purge and a preliminary assessment. It is recommended that ayahuasca sessions be done preferably in a center in the jungle or in the countryside where the participant can disconnect from the everyday world. It is recommended to rest after the experience and make the space to take it seriously.
If the participant has a big schedule which is more important compared to the healing process and the session is one of the many experiences of the itinerary, the participant definitely should not take ayahuasca.

The participant must make a careful choice, free of cultural preconceptions, making the proper space and having the respect it deserves. If the previous points are not taken into account, one should not take Ayahuasca.
The best practice to decide where and with whom to do a session is to listen to one’s heart. It is easy to see who is real or not, this is very important when making this decision.

The participant has a decision to make this experience a chance of understanding something far beyond anything imagined. It’s the opportunity to open the heart, mind and being to the universe. The session is an opportunity to heal and be healed through the compassion of the universe. If the participant reaches humility and pureness of heart, it may understand the most important thing of their existence.

The Anointed One: Did Jesus Perform His Miracles with Cannabis Oil?

“Jesus Healing the Blind”  from 12th Century Basilica Catedrale di Santa Maria Nouva di Monreale in Sicily.

Last month the Salt Lake City Tribune ran a story titled “Families Migrating to Colorado for a Medical Marijuana Miracle.” It profiled just a few of the hundreds of children and parents currently uprooting their lives and flocking to the Rocky Mountain State in search of a non-psychoactive cannabis medicine that’s shown promise in treating serious pediatric ailments, even when all other possible treatments have proven futile.
“You’re completely re-establishing your whole life,” one father of a two-year old epilepsy sufferer explained of his family’s recent decision to relocate from Tennessee. “We don’t have a support system. We don’t have friends. We had to find a new church.”

“We can’t leave the state with [cannabis] or it would be a federal offense,” his wife added. “But we just felt like if we knew something was out there that might work and we didn’t try it we’d be doing the ‘what if’s’ our whole life.”

Tales of “miraculous” healing through the use of highly-concentrated cannabis oil have been circulating within the global marijuana community for almost ten years, but they only broke into the popular consciousness this August, when Dr. Sanjay Gupta, CNN’s Chief Medical Correspondent, offered millions of viewers a painful apology for previously dismissing mounting evidence in favor of medical cannabis, describing himself as having been “systematically misled” on the subject.

descargaThen Dr. Gupta introduced the world to six-year-old Charlotte Figi from Colorado Springs, Colorado, who used to suffer 300 gran mal seizures per week, even after cycling through every anti-seizure medicine in the pharmacopeia and enduring a series of painful procedures that left her unable to walk, talk or eat. Those seizures started when Charlotte was just three months old, and yet in all that time, not one medical professional ever so much as mentioned cannabis. Her parents only learned the herb might help treat Dravet’s—the rare, intractable form of epilepsy tormenting their child—by watching a video on Youtube, and even then only decided to try it after all else failed.

The first time they gave their daughter a dose of wholly plant-derived non-psychoactive high-CBD cannabis oil, her seizures ceased for seven straight days—a completely astonishing response. She’s now down from more than 1,200 major seizures per month to just two or three mild ones. Towards the end of the CNN segment, as Charlotte happily pedaled her bicycle, her father asked, “Why were we the ones that had to go out and find this natural cure? How come our doctors didn’t know about this?”

SCATTERING SEEDS
Now imagine Charlotte Figi living not in modern day Colorado, but in the Middle East, roughly 2000 years ago. Whether an object of pity, scorn, fear, or fascination, that poor young girl likely would’ve been thought to be demonically possessed—her deeply religious community would have had no concept of epilepsy as we know it today. At least until the day a stranger came to town, calling himself Jesus of Nazareth, but named by his disciples as Christ—a Greek word meaning the anointed.
Following the recipe for holy anointing oil found in the Old Testament (Exodus 30: 22-23), this healer of local renown would infuse nine pounds of a plant known in Aramaic askaneh-bosm (fragrant cane) into about six quarts of olive oil, along with essential extracts of myrrh, cinnamon, and cassia. He would then apply this unguent concoction topically to the infirm, allowing it to absorb transdermally.

According to conventional Biblical scholarship, the “250 shekels of kaneh-bosm” listed in ancient Hebrew versions of the Old Testament supposedly refers to calamus, but Chris Bennett, author of the 2001 book Sex, Drugs, and Violence in the Bible claims that this is a misconception, and likely a misdirection as well, one stemming from a perhaps willful mistake made the first time the Old Testament was translated into Greek.

Kaneh-bosm, he writes, was cannabis.

The first solid evidence of the Hebrew use of cannabis was established in 1936 by Sula Benet, a little known Polish etymologist from the Institute of Anthropological Sciences in Warsaw. The word cannabis was generally thought to be of Scythian origin, but Benet showed that it has a much earlier origin in Semitic languages like Hebrew, and that it appears several times throughout the Old Testament. Benet explained that “in the original Hebrew text of the Old Testament there are references to hemp, both as incense, which was an integral part of religious celebration, and as an intoxicant.”

Benet demonstrated that the word for cannabis is kaneh-bosm, also rendered in traditional Hebrew as kaneh or kannabus. The root kan in this construction means “reed” or “hemp”, while bosm means “aromatic”. This word appears five times in the Old Testament; in the books of Exodus, the Song of Songs, Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Ezekiel…. and has been mistranslated as calamus, a common marsh plant with little monetary value that does not have the qualities or value ascribed to kaneh-bosm. The error occurred in the oldest Greek translation of the Hebrew Bible, the Septuagint in the third century BC, and was repeated in the many translations that followed.

While that etymogical argument in no way serves as material proof, the “aromatic reed theory” can serve as the basis for a set of assumptions. Assuming the oil described in Exodus did in fact contain high levels of cannabis, the effective dose of the plant’s medicinal compounds would certainly be potent enough to explain many of the healing miracles attributed to Jesus, as marijuana has been shown to be an effective treatment for everything from skin diseases and glaucoma to neurodegenerative conditions and multiple sclerosis. Also, while it’s highly unlikely anybody back then had herb capable of competing with the 20-25 percent THC super-chronic Cannabis Cup winners of today, there’s also no reason to believe that artful botanists of the ancient world couldn’t have bred and grown plants in the 10 percent THC range—with perhaps even higher levels of CBD than our modern hybrids—a cannabinoid profile that advocates claim is potent enough to produce a truly profound reaction when absorbed in such large amounts.

19_sMOSES THE STONED SHAMAN

Kaneh-bosm makes its first, rather auspicious appearance in the Bible as part of the story of Moses and the burning bush, when the revered Jewish prophet gets the holy anointing oil recipe direct from the Lord, along with clear instructions to anoint only the priest class—a restriction later eased to allow kings access as well.

Exodus 30:31

You shall speak to the sons of Israel, saying, “This shall be a holy anointing oil to me throughout your generations. It shall not be poured on anyone’s body, nor shall you make any like it in the same proportions; it is holy, and it shall be holy to you. Whoever shall mix any like it or whoever puts any of it on a layman shall be cut off from his people.

Unfortunately for the priests and their erstwhile marijuana monopoly, however, many other competing religions and spiritual paths active at the time—including pagans and those who worshipped the Goddess Ashera—had their own far more free-flowingkaneh-bosm supply. Cannabis, after all, has been grown as a food crop since at least 6,000 BC and was well known and widely available in Moses’s time.

“There can be little doubt about a role for cannabis in Judaic religion,” according to Carl P. Ruck,  a professor of classical mythology at Boston University who studies the way psychoactive substances have influenced humanity’s spiritual development. “There is no way that so important a plant as a fiber source for textiles and nutritive oils and one so easy to grow would have gone unnoticed… the mere harvesting of it would have induced an entheogenic reaction.”

asherah_by_sami_edelstein1Which means it wasn’t so much the cannabis plant that ancient Judaic priests tried to keep to themselves, as the healing potential of high-potency anointing oil passed down to them by Moses. A prohibition they maintained by targeting for elimination anybody who dared to break God’s commandment by sharing the elixir with the masses, assuming that kaneh-bosm is cannabis.

JESUS THE REBEL
Aside from crucifixion, Jesus’s baptism is considered by many researchers the only historically certain fact about his life. The New Testament’s vivid accounts of the ceremony make it clear that the apostles considered their savior’s encounter with John the Baptist to be a pivotal and transformative event, one that marks the beginning of his public ministry.

Mark 1: 9-13

It came to pass in those days that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized by John in the Jordan. And straightway coming up out of the water, He saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon Him. And there came a voice from Heaven, saying, ‘Thou Art My Beloved Son, In Whom I Am Well Pleased.’ And immediately the Spirit drove Him into the wilderness. And He was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted by Satan, and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered unto Him.

But if water served as the catalyst for Jesus’s spiritual ascension, why does he never perform a baptism? Why take the name Christ? And why anoint his flock in oil before sending them out to anoint others, as described in Mark 6:13: They cast out many devils, and anointed with oil many that were sick and healed them.

To those who believe that Christ used cannabis oil, the answer lies in non-canonical Christian texts. The canonical texts of the New Testament, that is the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke, etc, were not selected as such until around 325 years after Jesus’s death, when the Roman Catholic Church culled them from a large number of contenders in hopes of uniting all of Christendom under one banner—their own. The Church then sought out and destroyed every account that differed from their now official version of events. Allowing the very empire Jesus once virulently opposed to seize control over the practice of Christianity for a thousand year period known as the Dark Ages.

Meanwhile, any Christians who continued to promote alternate views of Jesus and his teachings were labeled heretics and brutally suppressed. Much of their scripture and dictates were thought to be lost forever as a result, until 1945, when an Egyptian peasant digging for fertilizer in a cave unearthed a dozen leather-bound codices inside a sealed jar, a treasure trove purposely buried there by scribes at a nearby monastery sometime around AD 367, when the Church first condemned the use of non-canonical texts.

Within these volumes—many of which predate the books of the New Testament—Biblical experts discovered a parallel but radically different telling of the life of Jesus, one that places the anointing ceremony squarely at the center of Christianity. So much so that these various sects were given the blanket name Gnostics (from the Greek word for “knowledge”) to highlight their shared focus on first-hand experience of the holy oil as what defines a christian, rather than second-hand faith in scripture or the priesthood.

The Gnostic tractate The Gospel of Phillip, for instance, proclaims that any person who “receives this unction…is no longer a christian but a Christ.” A transformation then compared  to the placebo act of baptism adopted by the Roman Catholic Church, in which would-be initiates “go down into the water and come up without having received anything… [Because] there is water in water, there is fire in chrism [an anointing].”

Basically, the Gnostics believed Jesus’s baptism took place, but only as a kind of cleansing ritual, in preparation for receiving holy anointing oil—the true sacrament. As Chris Bennett writes, “The surviving Gnostic descriptions of the effects of the anointing rite make it very clear that the holy oil had intense psychoactive properties that prepared the recipient for entrance into ‘unfading bliss.’”

Lytton John Musselman, a Professor of Botany at Old Dominion University and author of A Dictionary of Bible Plants (Cambridge 2011), says he’s familiar with the theory that keneh-bosem refers to cannabis, but remains wholly unconvinced, calling the evidence claiming marijuana to be part of the holy anointing oil “so weak I would not pursue it.” He also defends calamus as capable of producing medicinal effects on par with those described in the Bible.

“Calamus is a very important component of Ayurvedic medicine and has been shown to have efficacy,” according to Musselman. “For example, in Sri Lanka it is available in any herbal remedy shop and also universally grown in home gardens. The North American species was and is so important to Native Americans in the Northeast that land with natural populations is highly sought after.”

Like most Biblical scholars, Musselman gives little consideration to the idea that Jesus used marijuana to perform the kind of healing miracles we now see on CNN and read about in the Salt Lake City Tribune.

Understandably, for children like Charlotte Figi and their families, religion, history, politics, medicine, and the law all must take a backseat to the positive effects they are experiencing treating illness with marijuana. As Jesus said to his apostles after preaching at Lake Galilee:

Mark 4: 21-23

Do you bring in a lamp to put it under a bowl or a bed? Instead, don’t you put it on its stand? For whatever is hidden is meant to be disclosed, and whatever is concealed is meant to be brought out into the open. If anyone has ears to hear, let them hear.

Remember, lamps back then were fueled with oil!!!
