Inspiration That Guides Us Thru The Sagittarius Full Moon Energies

1by Edith Boyer-Telmer

Dear Friends,
in yesterday’s post about the current Sagittarius Full Moon energies we talked about the changes that naturally have to come, if we collectively want to arrive in the Golden Age of Aquarius. We heard about the fire sign’s character to move the human soul and set people in motion towards their higher goals, as it is representative of the spiritual warrior and truth seeker on planet earth. But not only is the Sagittarius Full Moon the spiritual purists best friend, it also makes us adventurous to actually explore this qualities in life, not only in our fantasies and dreams.
Since weeks now we have been guided to create a deeper and more harmonic new relationship with our physical bodies, so we can be connected more profoundly with the sensory abilities of the physical world, while walking in the awareness and expression of our personal divine blueprint for the Golden Age. This will be helpful now as the archer is on to spin the bow to the extremes.

Dear Ones, a personal message, New Beginnings will be closed from June 1st till September 4th! In this time I will be posting my articles rather sporadically, expecting to pick up the daily service after that period! If you resonate with my articles and are used to find my work  shared in a Facebook group, rather sign up on my newsletter here to make sure you get the information!!!

Below I gathered for you famous quotes that express perfectly the line we are collectively walking now, from the wandering spiritual warrior and seeker, thru the many adventures such a person has to experience to come to their powers, which gather in our physical bodies, and back home to where it all began. I hope you enjoy the read and feel the line of guidance unfold in yourself as well!!4nm“Why do you go away? So that you can come back. Things we better know about Karma

ka10-10by Edith Boyer-Telmer

Dear Friends,
the last few days have brought profound shifting energy and massively high frequencies on the planet and the whole machinery of the divine support system seams to work overtime for us.  I hope your transitions have been smooth and your personal shifts and profound and fulfilling. Now as our few is a bit more clear and we feel entitled to more personal freedom, it is time to look into – what the world calls – KARMA. The return of our actions to our door! So what does Karma really mean? The expression Karma is a Sanskrit word for “action”. Which leads us to the hermetic law / divine law of Cause and Effect. Newton realized that within the blueprint of our universe, ‘every action must have a reaction’.
What ever we decide to think, speak or do in this world, initiates a force that will react accordingly to the energy we have send out. The law states that: Every Cause has its Effect; every Effect has its Cause; everything happens according to the divine laws; Miracles, Kismet, Synchronicity and Good or Bad Luck are nothing, but names for this Law not recognized; there are endless planes of causation, but nothing escapes the Law. Important to know is, that this law vibrates in the physical human body by correspondence within the Spleen. The Spleen helps the body with cleansing the blood, which indicates that cleaning out karmic memory – has a healing impact on our original family tree. The Spleen is vital to the immune system of the human body and our overall feeling of well-being. And that is why in translation to the Humanity Laws for divinely inspired behavior, the law of Cause and Effect demand from us absolute honesty and integrity in thought, word and action. Nobody can escape the consequences of their actions, even that the consequences might not always have to be payed for in the same life cycle. karmAs we know, the law of Cause and Effect is a universal law, an energy pattern that demands how the flow goes, and neither the universe nor our soul have a feeling for human time, so things can play out over such a long period of time – we don’t see the anymore for what they are: simple answers from the universal to the energy field we once have send out to it. To be ignorant of the divine law is no excuse, as the universe is not rational in its respond to our existence, but creative, fluent and inspired.

1. THE LAW OF CAUSE AND EFFECT
In the Bible this divine law is mentioned as “As you sow, so shall you reap”. The law states that whatever quality of energy we send out into the Universe, will in a transformed, but equal form, come back to us.
2. THE LAW OF CREATION
Life does not “just happen” to us, it actually requires participation from us. As we are in essence one with the Universe and others, can whatever surrounds us also give us clues about our inner state of being, our level of development or our long forgotten dark spots. Being authentic and surrounding ourselves with people and vibrations we desire, creates more of what we truly need.
3. THE LAW OF HUMILITY
Humility sometimes means to bow our heads to things we can not change. As whatever we refuse to accept, is by this refusal trapped in a frozen state and impossible to change. Whatever we desire to transform, needs to be fully embraced and integrated just as the status quo truly is. If not the wheel of Karma keeps spinning and bringing similar situations to our door again.
4. THE LAW OF RESPONSIBILITY
This is a funny and a bit tricky one. On a spiritual level everything that happens to us, happens based on contracts for interaction with each other. These contracts are created in the other-world, long before we appeared here on planet earth. So if we seek to spiritually evolve, we must take responsibility for everything that appears in our life. At the same time on a human level, people can do us wrong – and it is important for our emotional and mental health, to leave the responsibility for their actions with them.karma15. THE LAW OF CHANGE
Another of the seven divine principles, the Law of Vibration states: “Nothing rests; everything moves all the time, everything vibrates.” From existence down to matter, all is in vibration, the higher the vibration, the higher the position in the scale. So on an energetic level everything changes all the time, while on a material level history repeats itself, until we hear the messages how we need to change our path.
6. THE LAW OF FOCUS
This law is relate to the energy field of the Ascended Master Lanto, and the alchemical process of drawing forth cosmic light and strength from the universal substance and bringing it into physical form. The more we keep the focus on our spiritual values, the more things, situation, people that resonate with the same frequency will appear.

7. THE LAW OF PATIENCE
Walking our authentic spiritual path, includes the realization, that the best thing we can do to co-operate with the universal forces, is doing what we’re suppose to be doing, and than show the patience to wait for the reward to come in on its own time. This is relate to the hermetic principle of Rhythms and Cycles which states: everything has its tides, everything happens in its time, and rhythm compensates – means, over time “what goes around, comes around”.

8. THE LAW OF PRESENTS
This is the easiest to explain and the hardest to execute. Being fully in the presents at any moment of our life, is the best way to prevent ourselves from creating further karma. If we regularly practice conscious breathing and are willing to transform in the violet flame what ever appears in our life, we don’t get overwhelmed by old thoughts, old patterns of behavior, old drama.
karI hope this is motivation for you to watch your steps, from the past to the moment, within the moment and, from the moment into the future. To put more awareness on the little things, that otherwise become our big obstacles along the way, and that you can initiate good karma for yourself – wherever you go!! May we all be blessed with helpful Karma, how ever it plays out in manifestation ;-)!!
Love and Blessings!!!

Number Sequences (11:11,333,444,..) Numerology & Angel Interpretations

aashyby Edith Boyer-Telmer

Dear Friends,
about 3 years ago, I started noticing synchronicity in numbers appearing all over the place in my life. The appearances got stronger and stronger over the first year and than, they started translating themselves to me on an energetic level.
The divine/hermetic law of “everything is vibration and everything is in resonance” unveiled itself.
I developed a more refined feeling for the frequency vibrations the universe is expressing through the numbers. It is indeed fascinating how much we can learn about ourselves and the bigger picture, by spending time with this vibrations.
In the last few month now, as the acceleration rate for the human awakening is constantly increasing, more and more people from all over the world have reported seeing the numbers and wondering what they mean.
Especially High Sensitive persons, Lightworker, energy-worker, intuitive and spiritual minded people are at the moment strongly effected by this phenomena. 11:11 may even be a vibration encoded in their DNA (or physical consciousness / memory). If we allow ourselves to be guided by them, they can lead us to our soul purpose.

Here are interpretations coming from numerology:

11: When you notice the synchronicity with the number 11, it me that your awareness is growing. You are deeper “tuned in” now. Once you start with 11, more number synchronicity will follow. Try to notice the first thing that comes to your mind, when you see the number the next time. Make sure your thoughts match the true desires of your soul!

111: An energetic gateway has opened for you. The energetic level of light you are able to hold in your physical body is increasing. Your power to bring dreams and soul desire into manifestation is growing now.

1111:
A great moment to pause and increase your awareness of what is happening in front of your eyes. It comes when one of these energies manifests in your life or, one of them truly starts flowing for you – your sexuality, the flow of your inner water, your money themes, the Kundalini energy. Especially 11:11 is also often understood as a call for Lightworker, Intuitives and Channeler to follow the voice of their inner abilities – and do whatever it is everyone can do for our Golden Age of Humanity.ang

222 or 2222: Trust and keep going! You are in the middle of the resurrection of your physical body! The process of ascension to a full integration of your light-body takes patients and faith.

333 or 3333: You are called to make clear decision on topics already since a while on your mind. Your decision will determine if the energies of 666 = the material world or of 999 = the spiritual world, increasingly appear in your life.

444 or 4444: The Number of stability between the forces (11:11) is also the number of inner strength and resurrection. All your bodies need to be equally cleaned and aligned to step out of the wheel of Karma. When the numbers are repeating, it is a time to incorporate the mastery of yourself.

555 or 5555: The number of awakening into the Christ Consciousness, the golden I AM awareness. The Christ Consciousness is the individual divine awareness within every human being.

666 or 6666: The number of the materially manifested world, everything physical. The point of few you have chosen in your momentary reality.

777 or 7777: Congratulations!!! You have managed the integration of a new piece of your higher-self. You have flooded parts of the four lower bodies with higher spiritual frequencies and enlightened them.

888 or 8888: The symbol of infinity. The unified spiral of the physical plane merging with the spiritual plane, the masculine with the feminine. The balance within the paradox of the forces. A time to step into your self-empowerment.

999 or 9999: Symbolizes our ability to master our energies of the divine – the compassionate human heart – the lower vibrations of nature (3), on 3 different levels (3×3=9). In relationship to our individual personality, in relation with the divine and in relation to the rest of humanity. The number of completion of the human ascension.

anHere some words from Doreen Virtue, how angels use the numbers:
111:  Monitor your thoughts carefully, and be sure to only think about what you want, not what you don’t want. This sequence is a sign that there is a gate of opportunity opening up, and your thoughts are manifesting into form at record speeds. The 111 is like the bright light of a flash bulb.
It means the universe has just taken a snapshot of your thoughts and is manifesting them into form. Are you pleased with what thoughts the universe has captured? If not, correct your thoughts.

222: Our newly planted ideas are beginning to grow into reality. Keep watering and nurturing them, and soon they will push through the soil so you can see evidence of your manifestation. In other words, don’t quit five minutes before the miracle. Your manifestation is soon going to be evident to you, so keep up the good work!
Keep holding positive thoughts, keep affirming, and continue visualizing!!!

333: The Ascended Masters are near you, desiring you to know that you have their help, love, and companionship. Call upon the Ascended Masters often, especially when you see the number 3 pattern around you.

444: The angels are surrounding you now, reassuring you of their love and help. Don’t worry because the angels’ help is nearby.

555: Buckle your seat-belts. A major life change is upon you. This change should not be viewed as being “positive” or “negative,” since all change is but a natural part of life’s flow. Perhaps this change is an answer to your prayers, so continue seeing and feeling yourself being at peace.

666: Your thoughts are out of balance right now, focused too much on the material world. This number sequence asks you to balance your thoughts between heaven and earth. Like the famous “Sermon on the Mount,” the angels ask you to focus on spirit and service, and know your material and emotional needs will automatically be met as a result.

777: The angels applaud you…congratulations, you’re on a roll! Keep up the good work and know your wish is coming true. This is an extremely positive sign and means you should also expect more miracles to occur.

888: A phase of your life is about to end, and this is a sign to give you a forewarning to prepare. This number sequence may mean you are winding up an emotional career, or relationship phase. In addition, it means, “The crops are ripe. Don’t wait to pick and enjoy them.” In other words, don’t procrastinate making your move or enjoying fruits of your labor.

999: Completion. This is the end of a big phase in your personal or global life. Also, it is a message to lightworkers involved in Earth healing and means, “Get to work because Mother Earth needs you right now.”

In the hope that this little over-few has brought you a step closer to unveiling the many, beautiful languages and expressions of “THE ONE” within you and in the world surrounding you!
Blessings and Guiding Angels

Listening With the Heart to Those Who Cannot Speak

Dear Freinds,
this article makes hope and made me cry at the same time! As I am also an empath  and an emotional intuitive, I was in many situations where I could feel the pain of animals. Wherer the energetic field talked to me about their horror and suffering. And some of them shared their happiness, their deep passion for life and for a connection with human beings. It is time we take better care of our fellow animal friends! A wonderful story that fits beautifully to the time we are in – the time to call back the animals into co-creation of a new – harmonious world for all beings!! AHO! Love and best connections!!!
Edith
How a chance encounter with a Horse demonstrates the power of listening with the heart.

As an emotional intuitive, I often find myself called into unchartered territory to be of service to help individuals and animals. It is in these moments that I witness the greatest potential for miracles. Synchronicity does not shout; it whispers, to see if you are listening and courageous enough to be of service.
After a long hike on a Sunday afternoon, my husband and I were famished, but we had arrived at our favorite restaurant only to find that it wouldn’t be open for another hour. It seemed like an easy choice to simply find another place to eat.
But something in my gut said, “Wait!”
We decided to aimlessly tour the countryside for that hour and eventually crossed a street named after my hometown. We giggled and turned the corner. Strolling past the rolling hills of cattle, horses, and sheep; we felt at peace.

Further down the road, I had a strange feeling as we approached a horse isolated in a small pen 25 feet in diameter. He was separated from a group of horses across the road. Intuitively, I could feel the pain and anxiety the horse was experiencing. I told my husband that something was wrong and he asked if he should pull over.
Synchronicity had led me here to be of service so my darling husband happily obliged. Afraid to get out of the car for fear of overstepping personal boundaries, I could feel the inner struggle between being of service to this horse who couldn’t speak for himself and the fear of being yelled at or shot. But the horse’s suffering was too intense to disregard; I decided to act with courage.

horse-eyeI approached the horse in his pen slowly, allowing him to see the loving intention in my eyes and heart. I telepathically let him know that I was there to connect with him and that I cared about what he was feeling. I felt an immediate burst of joy come from inside his heart.

The horse allowed me to feel his deep grief and anxiety. He felt unacceptable and alone. He felt a strong sense of panic, anxiety, humiliation, abandonment, and bewilderment. He didn’t know who he could trust and was terribly unhappy in the tiny pen filled with his own feces that he was left in. This left him feeling humiliated and rejected.
The horse’s pen was one of those pens that had been used for breaking them. I saw a flash of the horse’s past where he was beaten into submission by previous owners, men who had whipped him repeatedly.
The experiences had left him emotionally scarred. Being left alone in that pen told him that he was unacceptable psychologically. I could feel that no matter how many times he had tried to trust, he had been consistently betrayed, mistreated, and left alone. He longed to be free, grazing with the other horses in the pasture. Most people do not understand that horses, like other conscious animals, form attachments and have real emotions like humans.
With all of this information, I knew I wanted to overcome my own fear of being misunderstood and potentially harmed in order to do what I could to help the horse relay this message to his current owner.
I left a detailed note and my phone number with the owner and let the horse know that his wishes had been communicated. He responded by trying to play with me, grabbing with his mouth at the ends of my clothing to pull me in to the pen with him. He really wanted to connect with someone who saw him for the beautiful and intelligent spirit that he is.

horse-pen

On our way home, I was surprised to receive a phone call from the horse’s owner and could therefore explain our chance encounter in more detail. “You are very in tune!” she said, to my surprise and delight.

She told me that the horse had bonded with her daughter but since she had just had knee surgery, she was not able to get out to see him. This explained why he felt so abandoned and alone. She went on to tell me that the horse had seven previous owners, many of whom had severely beat him and forced him to do very hard work. Most recently, he had been relocated from Oklahoma where someone in their family had passed away.
“Did you notice the broken gate on the pen?” she asked. “Yes,” I replied. “He broke free during a thunderstorm one night about two months ago” she said.
Could you imagine being trapped in a small pen alone in the dark during a violent thunder and lightning storm? Just like you, the horse was afraid as he had no where to hide and was terrified.
“But he lived in Oklahoma” she said. “They have great big storms there.”

She didn’t understand that horses are just like people. We all need shelter and a place to feel safe. Even horses get scared. I offered solutions to help the horse adjust to his new home and family in a more interconnected way by possibly contacting the owner of the adjacent property to see if the horse could socialize with the others. She was very grateful and happy to respond to make the situation better immediately. I was happy that I did not allow my fear to get in the way of trying to alleviate the suffering of another being. It was an honor to communicate empathically with a beautiful life force who could not speak for himself.
Many people do not understand the emotional intelligence of other species, but would be changed forever once they did. Words create division but we can connect universally through the empathic language of the heart. No matter what life form you find yourself engaging with, try practicing deep listening and speaking through the emotional compass of your heart. What you will discover is that the world is a much more interesting place.

If you spent daily a minimum of 10 minutes to clarify with yourself how wonderful you are, what a wonderful thing it is to be alive and what you hold to be most valuable for you, than you find more appreciation in your daily routine and things can happen with more ease.
Here are some things to try, to live by and remind yourself on a daily base. Also I encourage you to write down your own daily reminder, your very personal little list, and read them each morning before you start engaging with other people.

4. Life is short, don’t sweat the small stuff. Let things go with ease. Train yourself not to hold on to the little annoyances!

5. Love yourself unconditionally. Train to thing loving and kind thoughts about yourself!

Top 7 Tips for How to Be Happy

Dear Friends,

this is an good list that came to me these days to be shared and discussed :-). Some of this tips are rather simple and practical, easy to handle for every person. Others are definitely long term projects, to be started. For sure we need to stay with our eyes on the ball, if we want to create a sustainable happy life. Just like spiritual practice, is the creation of happiness closely connected to discipline (positive thinking and interpreting lifers challenges), perseverance (bringing the divine into human manifestation needs daily reminder of our true origin and inheritance) and relaxation (no emotional change can become clear for you, if you are all the time acting!! the feminine unveils her beauty in inner silence, in gentleness with yourself and when you are listening to your inner voice).
Enjoy the article and when you try the tips, may the forces of love be with you!

Top 7 Tips for How to Be Happy

why are happy people happy, finding happiness, find happiness, happiness tips, happiness quotesFinding Happiness went in search for the answer to the question “why are happy people happy?”

Here are our top tips for how to find true and lasting happiness in daily life:

1.) Let go of negativity.

  • Learn to forgive and forget.

  • See every challenge as an opportunity for further growth.

  • Express gratitude for what you have.

  • Be more optimistic about the future and your ability to accomplish life goals.

  • Open yourself up to success and embrace failures or mistakes that happen along the way.

  • Know that none of us are perfect, we are all here to entertain and be entertained.

  • Don’t worry about the little things. Take plenty of “worry vacations” where you train your mind not to worry for a certain lengths of time.

  • If you want to be more positive, surround yourself with positive energy and people. Nurture the positive relationships that you have, seeking out more of those relationships that help uplift you.

  • Accept and love yourself for the unique gifts and talents that you bring to life. Spend less time trying to please others and spend more time trying to please your higher self.

  • See the humor in life and in our experiences. Take life less seriously and learn to laugh at yourself.

2.) Serve and be kind to others.

  • Treat everyone with kindness. Not only does it help others to feel better, but you will notice that you too feel good after having a positive interaction with others.

  • Speak well of others. When you speak negatively of others you will attract more negativity to yourself, but when you speak positively of others, you will attract more positivity.

  • Truly listen to others. Be present and mindful to what others are really saying when they speak. Support them without bringing yourself into it.

  • Be careful with your words. Speak gentler, kinder, and wiser.

  • Respect others and their free will.

  • Put your trust in others and be trusted in return. Enjoy the sense of community and friendship that comes from this openness and faith in one another.

  • Work as part of a whole. See others as partners in your efforts. Unite your efforts with them to create a synergy more powerful than anything you could do alone.

  • Practice generosity and giving without expecting anything in return. Get involved with service opportunities and offer what you can to a greater cause.

  • Smile more– to family, to co-workers, to neighbors, to strangers– and watch it not only change how you feel but also how they feel too.

descarga3.) Live in the present.

  • Don’t replay negative events or worry about the future.

  • Accept and celebrate impermanence. Be grateful for your life, for each moment of every day. Observe the constant and natural flow of change that surrounds us, and your small yet important part in the natural, divine flow of life.

  • Observe yourself in the moment. Work on your reactions to outer circumstances and learn how to approach life harmoniously.

4.) Choose a healthy lifestyle.

  • Keep a daily routine. Wake up at the same time every morning, preferably early. Setting yourself to a natural biorhythm will make it easier to wake up and feel energized.

  • Get enough sleep. Proper sleep is linked to positive personality characteristics like optimism, improved self-esteem, and even problem solving.

  • Expose yourself to cold temperatures (especially first thing in the morning with perhaps a cold shower). It increases your circulation, helps minimize inflammation in the body, enhances weight loss, and energizes and invigorates you to start your day.

  • Turn off the TV. For every hour of TV you watch, you reduce 22 minutes of your life expectancy.

  • Eat properly. What you eat has a direct effect on your mood and energy levels. Eat plenty of organic, locally grown fruits and vegetables, nuts, whole grains, and dairy products that are both vitamin and mineral infused. Don’t overeat and try to practice healthy self-control.

  • Exercise daily to the point of sweating. It not only helps to purify the body, but also releases endorphins which help to prevent stress, relieve depression, and positively improve your mood.

  • Laugh more. Laughter is the best medicine. Like exercise, it releases endorphins that battle the negative effects of stress and promote a sense of well-being and joy.

  • Practice deep breathing and yoga. The body and mind are connected. Emotions affect the physical systems in the body, and the state of the body also affects the mind. By relaxing and releasing tension through the breath or yoga practice you feel more calm and centered throughout the day.

5.) Take care of your spirit.

  • Strive to always learn new things. Constantly expand your awareness and discover new ways of expressing your divine gifts.

  • Get creative. This will not only challenge you to learn new things, but will also help to keep your mind in a positive place. Practice living in the present moment and being a channel for the divine flow of creativity.

  • Practice meditation. Research has proven that even as little as 10 minutes of meditation a day can lead to physical changes in the brain that improve concentration and focus, calm the nervous system, and help you to become more kind and compassionate, and even more humorous. Then bring the joy and peace you receive from meditation into your daily life and activity.

  • Be honest. Telling the truth keeps you free inside, builds trust in relationships, and improves your will power and the ability to attract success.

  • Surrender to the Universe Divine and allow it to take care of the littlest things in life to the greatest and most important.

descarga (1)6. ) Be inwardly free.

  • Live minimally and simply. Often extravagant living brings more stress not more satisfaction.

  • De-clutter your home to de-clutter your mind. Clutter is an often unrecognized source of stress that promotes feelings of anxiety, frustration, distraction, and guilt. Feel good in your own home. Make it your sanctuary by keeping it clean, organized, and uplifting.

  • Go without certain things you think you need. Travel to new places where not everything is as easily accessible or readily available, and learn to appreciate what you have by expanding your world.

  • Take some time away from life’s complicated outer involvements to get to know your family, your neighbors, and your loved ones better; and to get to know yourself.

7.)  Reconnect with Nature.

  • Take some time every week to recharge your body battery. On the weekend, escape to nature or a place where you can feel peace in time for a fresh start to the work week.

  • Get outside whenever possible to breathe in the fresh air and feel the sunshine. Both of which studies have shown to have a positive effect on our health and our mood.

  • Take some time to be silent. Be silent and calm every night for at least 10 minutes (longer if possible) and again in the morning before rising. This will produce an unbreakable habit of inner happiness to help you meet challenges in life.

  • Observe the natural beauty that surrounds you and feel a sense of connection. Appreciate the details and miracles that can be found in nature.

Taking the Next Steps to Finding Happiness:

Ask yourself what makes you happy, and find ways to restructure your life so that you are able to do more of those things.

Then ask why you struggle to do the things that you know will make you happy. Why are you not yet happy? Why haven’t you taken the next steps to find your happiness? Why are you here? And what do you need to do to feel a sense of accomplishment in this life?

Visualize yourself happy, doing the things that will bring you inner and outer success in life and write down the things you need to do to create a Happiness Bucket List. Start with the little things you know you can do each day that will bring you joy. Then move on to accomplish greater and greater things on your happiness bucket list.

The Anointed One: Did Jesus Perform His Miracles with Cannabis Oil?

“Jesus Healing the Blind”  from 12th Century Basilica Catedrale di Santa Maria Nouva di Monreale in Sicily.

Last month the Salt Lake City Tribune ran a story titled “Families Migrating to Colorado for a Medical Marijuana Miracle.” It profiled just a few of the hundreds of children and parents currently uprooting their lives and flocking to the Rocky Mountain State in search of a non-psychoactive cannabis medicine that’s shown promise in treating serious pediatric ailments, even when all other possible treatments have proven futile.
“You’re completely re-establishing your whole life,” one father of a two-year old epilepsy sufferer explained of his family’s recent decision to relocate from Tennessee. “We don’t have a support system. We don’t have friends. We had to find a new church.”

“We can’t leave the state with [cannabis] or it would be a federal offense,” his wife added. “But we just felt like if we knew something was out there that might work and we didn’t try it we’d be doing the ‘what if’s’ our whole life.”

Tales of “miraculous” healing through the use of highly-concentrated cannabis oil have been circulating within the global marijuana community for almost ten years, but they only broke into the popular consciousness this August, when Dr. Sanjay Gupta, CNN’s Chief Medical Correspondent, offered millions of viewers a painful apology for previously dismissing mounting evidence in favor of medical cannabis, describing himself as having been “systematically misled” on the subject.

descargaThen Dr. Gupta introduced the world to six-year-old Charlotte Figi from Colorado Springs, Colorado, who used to suffer 300 gran mal seizures per week, even after cycling through every anti-seizure medicine in the pharmacopeia and enduring a series of painful procedures that left her unable to walk, talk or eat. Those seizures started when Charlotte was just three months old, and yet in all that time, not one medical professional ever so much as mentioned cannabis. Her parents only learned the herb might help treat Dravet’s—the rare, intractable form of epilepsy tormenting their child—by watching a video on Youtube, and even then only decided to try it after all else failed.

The first time they gave their daughter a dose of wholly plant-derived non-psychoactive high-CBD cannabis oil, her seizures ceased for seven straight days—a completely astonishing response. She’s now down from more than 1,200 major seizures per month to just two or three mild ones. Towards the end of the CNN segment, as Charlotte happily pedaled her bicycle, her father asked, “Why were we the ones that had to go out and find this natural cure? How come our doctors didn’t know about this?”

SCATTERING SEEDS
Now imagine Charlotte Figi living not in modern day Colorado, but in the Middle East, roughly 2000 years ago. Whether an object of pity, scorn, fear, or fascination, that poor young girl likely would’ve been thought to be demonically possessed—her deeply religious community would have had no concept of epilepsy as we know it today. At least until the day a stranger came to town, calling himself Jesus of Nazareth, but named by his disciples as Christ—a Greek word meaning the anointed.
Following the recipe for holy anointing oil found in the Old Testament (Exodus 30: 22-23), this healer of local renown would infuse nine pounds of a plant known in Aramaic askaneh-bosm (fragrant cane) into about six quarts of olive oil, along with essential extracts of myrrh, cinnamon, and cassia. He would then apply this unguent concoction topically to the infirm, allowing it to absorb transdermally.

According to conventional Biblical scholarship, the “250 shekels of kaneh-bosm” listed in ancient Hebrew versions of the Old Testament supposedly refers to calamus, but Chris Bennett, author of the 2001 book Sex, Drugs, and Violence in the Bible claims that this is a misconception, and likely a misdirection as well, one stemming from a perhaps willful mistake made the first time the Old Testament was translated into Greek.

Kaneh-bosm, he writes, was cannabis.

The first solid evidence of the Hebrew use of cannabis was established in 1936 by Sula Benet, a little known Polish etymologist from the Institute of Anthropological Sciences in Warsaw. The word cannabis was generally thought to be of Scythian origin, but Benet showed that it has a much earlier origin in Semitic languages like Hebrew, and that it appears several times throughout the Old Testament. Benet explained that “in the original Hebrew text of the Old Testament there are references to hemp, both as incense, which was an integral part of religious celebration, and as an intoxicant.”

Benet demonstrated that the word for cannabis is kaneh-bosm, also rendered in traditional Hebrew as kaneh or kannabus. The root kan in this construction means “reed” or “hemp”, while bosm means “aromatic”. This word appears five times in the Old Testament; in the books of Exodus, the Song of Songs, Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Ezekiel…. and has been mistranslated as calamus, a common marsh plant with little monetary value that does not have the qualities or value ascribed to kaneh-bosm. The error occurred in the oldest Greek translation of the Hebrew Bible, the Septuagint in the third century BC, and was repeated in the many translations that followed.

While that etymogical argument in no way serves as material proof, the “aromatic reed theory” can serve as the basis for a set of assumptions. Assuming the oil described in Exodus did in fact contain high levels of cannabis, the effective dose of the plant’s medicinal compounds would certainly be potent enough to explain many of the healing miracles attributed to Jesus, as marijuana has been shown to be an effective treatment for everything from skin diseases and glaucoma to neurodegenerative conditions and multiple sclerosis. Also, while it’s highly unlikely anybody back then had herb capable of competing with the 20-25 percent THC super-chronic Cannabis Cup winners of today, there’s also no reason to believe that artful botanists of the ancient world couldn’t have bred and grown plants in the 10 percent THC range—with perhaps even higher levels of CBD than our modern hybrids—a cannabinoid profile that advocates claim is potent enough to produce a truly profound reaction when absorbed in such large amounts.

Kaneh-bosm makes its first, rather auspicious appearance in the Bible as part of the story of Moses and the burning bush, when the revered Jewish prophet gets the holy anointing oil recipe direct from the Lord, along with clear instructions to anoint only the priest class—a restriction later eased to allow kings access as well.

Exodus 30:31

You shall speak to the sons of Israel, saying, “This shall be a holy anointing oil to me throughout your generations. It shall not be poured on anyone’s body, nor shall you make any like it in the same proportions; it is holy, and it shall be holy to you. Whoever shall mix any like it or whoever puts any of it on a layman shall be cut off from his people.

Unfortunately for the priests and their erstwhile marijuana monopoly, however, many other competing religions and spiritual paths active at the time—including pagans and those who worshipped the Goddess Ashera—had their own far more free-flowingkaneh-bosm supply. Cannabis, after all, has been grown as a food crop since at least 6,000 BC and was well known and widely available in Moses’s time.

“There can be little doubt about a role for cannabis in Judaic religion,” according to Carl P. Ruck,  a professor of classical mythology at Boston University who studies the way psychoactive substances have influenced humanity’s spiritual development. “There is no way that so important a plant as a fiber source for textiles and nutritive oils and one so easy to grow would have gone unnoticed… the mere harvesting of it would have induced an entheogenic reaction.”

asherah_by_sami_edelstein1Which means it wasn’t so much the cannabis plant that ancient Judaic priests tried to keep to themselves, as the healing potential of high-potency anointing oil passed down to them by Moses. A prohibition they maintained by targeting for elimination anybody who dared to break God’s commandment by sharing the elixir with the masses, assuming that kaneh-bosm is cannabis.

JESUS THE REBEL
Aside from crucifixion, Jesus’s baptism is considered by many researchers the only historically certain fact about his life. The New Testament’s vivid accounts of the ceremony make it clear that the apostles considered their savior’s encounter with John the Baptist to be a pivotal and transformative event, one that marks the beginning of his public ministry.

Mark 1: 9-13

It came to pass in those days that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized by John in the Jordan. And straightway coming up out of the water, He saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon Him. And there came a voice from Heaven, saying, ‘Thou Art My Beloved Son, In Whom I Am Well Pleased.’ And immediately the Spirit drove Him into the wilderness. And He was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted by Satan, and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered unto Him.

But if water served as the catalyst for Jesus’s spiritual ascension, why does he never perform a baptism? Why take the name Christ? And why anoint his flock in oil before sending them out to anoint others, as described in Mark 6:13: They cast out many devils, and anointed with oil many that were sick and healed them.

To those who believe that Christ used cannabis oil, the answer lies in non-canonical Christian texts. The canonical texts of the New Testament, that is the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke, etc, were not selected as such until around 325 years after Jesus’s death, when the Roman Catholic Church culled them from a large number of contenders in hopes of uniting all of Christendom under one banner—their own. The Church then sought out and destroyed every account that differed from their now official version of events. Allowing the very empire Jesus once virulently opposed to seize control over the practice of Christianity for a thousand year period known as the Dark Ages.

Meanwhile, any Christians who continued to promote alternate views of Jesus and his teachings were labeled heretics and brutally suppressed. Much of their scripture and dictates were thought to be lost forever as a result, until 1945, when an Egyptian peasant digging for fertilizer in a cave unearthed a dozen leather-bound codices inside a sealed jar, a treasure trove purposely buried there by scribes at a nearby monastery sometime around AD 367, when the Church first condemned the use of non-canonical texts.

Within these volumes—many of which predate the books of the New Testament—Biblical experts discovered a parallel but radically different telling of the life of Jesus, one that places the anointing ceremony squarely at the center of Christianity. So much so that these various sects were given the blanket name Gnostics (from the Greek word for “knowledge”) to highlight their shared focus on first-hand experience of the holy oil as what defines a christian, rather than second-hand faith in scripture or the priesthood.

The Gnostic tractate The Gospel of Phillip, for instance, proclaims that any person who “receives this unction…is no longer a christian but a Christ.” A transformation then compared  to the placebo act of baptism adopted by the Roman Catholic Church, in which would-be initiates “go down into the water and come up without having received anything… [Because] there is water in water, there is fire in chrism [an anointing].”

Basically, the Gnostics believed Jesus’s baptism took place, but only as a kind of cleansing ritual, in preparation for receiving holy anointing oil—the true sacrament. As Chris Bennett writes, “The surviving Gnostic descriptions of the effects of the anointing rite make it very clear that the holy oil had intense psychoactive properties that prepared the recipient for entrance into ‘unfading bliss.’”

Lytton John Musselman, a Professor of Botany at Old Dominion University and author of A Dictionary of Bible Plants (Cambridge 2011), says he’s familiar with the theory that keneh-bosem refers to cannabis, but remains wholly unconvinced, calling the evidence claiming marijuana to be part of the holy anointing oil “so weak I would not pursue it.” He also defends calamus as capable of producing medicinal effects on par with those described in the Bible.

“Calamus is a very important component of Ayurvedic medicine and has been shown to have efficacy,” according to Musselman. “For example, in Sri Lanka it is available in any herbal remedy shop and also universally grown in home gardens. The North American species was and is so important to Native Americans in the Northeast that land with natural populations is highly sought after.”

Like most Biblical scholars, Musselman gives little consideration to the idea that Jesus used marijuana to perform the kind of healing miracles we now see on CNN and read about in the Salt Lake City Tribune.

Understandably, for children like Charlotte Figi and their families, religion, history, politics, medicine, and the law all must take a backseat to the positive effects they are experiencing treating illness with marijuana. As Jesus said to his apostles after preaching at Lake Galilee:

Mark 4: 21-23

Do you bring in a lamp to put it under a bowl or a bed? Instead, don’t you put it on its stand? For whatever is hidden is meant to be disclosed, and whatever is concealed is meant to be brought out into the open. If anyone has ears to hear, let them hear.

Remember, lamps back then were fueled with oil!!!
