Introducing Education Valuable For The Future Of Our World

a1by Edith Boyer-Telmer

Dear Friends,
nearly a year ago, I shared with you an article from Gustavo Tanaka, called “Something Extraordinary Is Happening in the World, Have You Noticed“. In his work, the author is talking about the paradigms that are collectively changing in our value system. A natural development of bringing our mind and our soul in harmonic balance with each other, is that much more people on our planet feel an increased desire to experience their income work in this world as meaningful. But that is only possible, when we work for something that for human life has a more profound substance, than ordinary money ever can provide.

And this is where our quest for an education that allows our children the mental freedom of free choice of the tools that form their teachings, and practical understanding of human kind as well as the management of everyday life, should begin. Not everybody is the same – not everybody can profit from the same methods, while there is also so much to learn about the things we all have in common. Than emotional intelligence can blossom between all beings in the Golden Age of Aquarius. Below I have put together for you, a paragraph of Tanaka’s article, a beautiful speech from Prince Ea on the same topic, and parts of Mahatma Gandhi’s few on the new ways of bringing valuable education to the people. I hope you feel inspired!

The trend for Un-schooling by Gustavo Tanaka:
Who created this teaching model? Who chose the classes you have to take? Who chose the lessons we learn in history classes? Why didn’t they teach us the truth about other ancient civilizations? Why should kids follow a certain set of rules? Why should they watch everything in silence? Why should they wear a uniform? What about taking a test to prove that you actually learned? We developed a model that perpetuates and replicates followers of the system. That breed people into ordinary human beings. Fortunately, a lot of people are working to rethink that though concepts such as un-schooling, hack-schooling, homeschooling. Maybe you’ve never thought of that and even may be in shock. But it’s happening. Silently, people are being woken up and are realizing how crazy it is to live in this society. Look at all these new actions and try to think everything is normal we were taught so far is normal. I don’t think it is. There is something extraordinary happening.1

Mahatma Gandhi’s opinion on the future of education:
What is really needed to make democracy function is not knowledge of facts, but right education. The real difficulty is that people have no idea of what education truly is. We assess the value of education in the same manner as we assess the value of land or of shares in the stock-exchange market. We want to provide only such education as would enable the student to earn more. We hardly give any thought to the improvement of the character of the educated. The girls, we say, do not have to earn; so why should they be educated? As long as such ideas persist there is no hope of our ever knowing the true value of education.
Literacy in itself is no education. Literacy is not the end of education or even the beginning. By education I mean an all-round drawing out of the best in the child and man-body, mind and spirit.
Love requires that true education should be easily accessible to all and should be of use to every villager in daily life. True education must correspond to the surrounding circumstances or it is not a healthy growth. Education should be so revolutionized as to answer the wants of the poorest villager, instead of answering those of an imperial exploiter. Be the change that you wish to see in the world.

And other wise people in history:
“Nothing that is worth knowing can be taught”
Oscar Wilde

“I have never let my schooling interfere with my education.”
Mark Twain

“Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all.”

“To educate a person in the mind but not in morals is to educate a menace to society.”
Theodore Roosevelt

“Education is the ability to listen to almost anything without losing your temper or your self-confidence.”
Robert Frost

In case your kids are not in school jet, or you can feel that it is time for a change, I hope this is helpful information on the alternatives available on this planet. Maybe you feel inspired to pack up your kids, travel and let them be taught by life for a while. Maybe you desire to support them in their choice of heart for an unconventional education. What ever your path, I hope you find the perfect fit for your children’s needs. 1Dear Ones, allow me to close for today with a quote by Nikos Kazantzakis and the reminder, that we are all here on earth to be teacher for another. “True teachers are those who use themselves as bridges over which they invite their students to cross; then, having facilitated their crossing, joyfully collapse, encouraging them to create their own.”
Blessings and Happy Learning!
