in my daily work with people who are seeking a deeper connection to their inner voice and the sources of their divine guidance, I often hear phrases like “I can not meditate! I did try once before! Only sitting without talking and consciously emptying the mind, just does not work for me”!! Please allow me to assure you “that is not true”, because that is not the only way how you can be in meditation. To the opposite! Meditation is like every other relationship – about finding what truly fits for you!!
Indeed it is true, that many people because of their personal chaotic lifestyle or the energetic frequencies they express in their numerology – might need it more to develop a curtain level of discipline true their mediation practice, but in general your way of meditation is your choice and should be to your taste and liking. Nothing is gained if you pressure yourself in a 2 hour Zen Sitting-Meditation to experience a feeling for your connection with the universe, if you can generate the same feeling in a joyful 40minute dancing meditation!!!
Also committing to a daily meditation practice, does not automatically mean you have to do the same meditation every day! Mix it up if you are the type of person who needs regular change and diversity, in order not to loos interest in an activity. Just stick to the discipline of doing something on a daily base!
Here are seven simple tips how you can turn random everyday life activities, into effective Meditations for many different occasions:
Yes that might sound funny, especially in a world where people already talk to much and not often enough walk the talk, but there is quite a high percentage of people who need to hear their own voice repeat their situation – in order to gain clarity about the mental and emotional impact their life situation currently has on them. So make it a conscious tool of release and a chance for realization of details about yourself. This is especially effective if you know you are the above mentioned type and you feel stuck in a confused energy field and mindset.
Sit down in front of an empty wall, close your eyes for some minutes, make a good inner connection with yourself. Open your eyes again, stare on a fix spot on the wall and start talking. Just talk, try not to know – nor to control what is coming out of your mouth. You might surprise yourself ! Even that your mean boss is on your conscious mind, you might end up talking about your grandfather, who died two month ago. Just be open to hear the information that your words are providing for you, and to learn from them about your own souls desire and needs.
Walking, especially in nature and in a conscious manner, has a grounding and centering effect. In a time where most people in cities spend more time behind the wheel of their car or in their office chair, than on their own two feet – conscious walking turns into an important power-tool! Look out for a nice route to walk, choose an environment where you feel safe, relaxed and embraced by the nature surrounding you. Make an effort to walk as slow and earthly connected as you possibly can, until your body finds its natural rhythm. Breath deeply into your belly and internally watch your energies slowly drop toward the ground, anchoring your every step on earth as a strong and clear root for your personal soul path. Walk as long as you like, but make it at least 20minutes so the effects of physical fitness, deep breathing and natures unconditional love – can work their magic on you!!3. BREATHING
This is a simple exercise you can easily do after work, even if you are exhausted and stressed. Indeed it will help you release some of your stress and give you a new energy boost. Lay down on your back stretched out, maybe with a cushion under your knees. Inhale through your nose for 4 seconds – while you are focusing on the physical area as showed above. Hold your breath for 4 seconds and than exhale for further 4 seconds, trough the mouth. Allow the stress in your muscles to naturally find release and your awareness to sink deeper and deeper into your body. Do that 10 times and you are good to go again!!
This one I highly recommend to gain clarity over the details of your future manifestations. Take time to write down memories of former situations, that you don’t ever again want to repeat. Memories of human traits and expressions, you are not comfortable to have in your surrounding. Work situations that turned out harmful for you, and so on.. Be as detailed as possible in your memories and allow yourself, to feel all the emotions and irritations relate to the theme – without letting them overwhelm you. Than put the list away for 3 days. When 3 days have past, pick up your list and look from a rational point of few at your text. Burn the pages in a conscious alchemical act of transformation! Now sit down and write down the same topics in the most beautiful, colorful, joyful way you can possible describe to yourself, what it is your heart ans soul really need and desire.
The probably most beautiful version of moving meditation I am aware of, is the work of Gabrielle Roth on the 5 Rhythm dance. This 5 Rhythms are not simple a nicely flowing meditation, but the blueprint of life for every rhythm and cycle we go thru. It starts with FLOW… everything is normal, balanced and calm… followed by STACCATO.. the masculine force of direction, clarity and drive comes in…. which leads to the feminine power of CHAOS… the catharsis of an internal death – for the sake of a New Beginning ;-)… which moves into CELEBRATION… an energy that invite us to share our new found world… and ends in SILENCE… a moment of inner quirt and contentment, until the cycle is naturally finished – and starts at all over again.6. DRIVING
Have you ever experienced that you are driving in your car and you find yourself relax into an uncomfortable situation, your life had just presented to you and that freaked you out just half an hour ago??? That is because driving a car is a very unconscious act, while done with a high concentration level. Studies show that the movements needed to navigate a car happen so automatically, we do not need a lot of energy for this part. The fact that we have to concentrate on the traffic we are in and other peoples actions, plays into our hands by engaging the mind with direction. That leads to a state of clarity and elevated vibration, which allows us to see the problem from a higher perspective. It is the same principle that people use, when starring in a candle in order to train the eye for the ability to see Auras. Just make sure it is a conscious act of “time for yourself” and your self-love, not an anger ride true the crowded city!!
We all know that spending time in nature and being with the many creatures the Animal Kingdom is providing, feeds the human soul with memories of wholeness and inner divinity. Many have experienced by now, the nurturing and grounding effect that hugging a tree has on us. Watching wild life can remind us about the majestic powers, this wonderful brothers and sisters bring into our ONENESS game. Hiking is an activity especially effective if you combine it with prayers mend to elevate the human mind. Designed for humanity to reach higher realms of inner divinity. Your connection between the conscious approach, the physical movement, emotional calmness and mental engagement, will turn your prayers much quick into embodiment.
