Three Causes of Spiritual Illness

8467e319fdc9ccd9cfa2b1ae5e3afea1Dear Friends,
we have been undergoing so many intense changes in the last weeks, we still need some time to integrate the complexity of it all. This is a beautiful article about the power of our manifestation abilities – this time about physical illness in the human body. It explains clear and loud how we are the creator of our own illnesses. At the moment this 3 basic causes are creating a lot of suffering, pain, medical needs and misunderstanding in this world. I hope you feel encouraged to be brave and inspired to take care of yourself. Remove yourself from workplaces, friendships and relationships that cause you the creation of illness. Set yourself free for negative impacts and your life will thrive!!!! I hope this will inspire you to act on your self-love!

Three Causes of Spiritual Illness

As we pass through life on the physical plane, things happen. We contract flues and colds and viruses, and we sustain physical injuries, like falling off our bikes as children or experiencing sports injuries. As adults, we may throw our back out or experience a serious car accident, in the process, acquiring bruises, cuts, sprains, infections, lacerations, and sometimes broken bones.
Some of us may also experience serious illnesses of an internal nature like cancer or hepatitis, heart disease or multiple sclerosis. Eventually we pass through old age and the progressive infirmity and death of the physical body. These are the givens–they are all to be expected as part of what it means to be an embodied, living being. But these are all effects, and what the shaman is primarily interested in is the cause.

Cause and Effect

In looking through the shamanic healer’s eyes, the ultimate causes of virtually all illness are to be found within the imaginal realms–in those same regions from which illness derives its initial power to affect us adversely. Because of this, it is not enough to simply suppress the effects of illness with medication on the physical plane and hope for the best. For true healing to occur, the causes of the illness must be addressed.
From the shaman’s perspective, there are three classic causes of illness, and interestingly, they are not microbes or bacteria or viruses. Rather, they are negative internal states that appear within us in response to negative or traumatic life experiences. The first among these is disharmony.

feeling-emotionDisharmony

Disharmony is what we experience when life suddenly loses its meaning or when we have lost an important connection to life. Let’s take the case of an elderly couple who have had a long marriage, and suddenly one of them dies. They may not have had a perfect relationship, yet there is a deep bond between them because of all they have shared together. The survivor may go into crisis upon the loss of their mate, and within a short time, he or she may come down with something medically challenging, like cancer. Suddenly, they’re gone too.
That’s disharmony.  The state of disharmony that we experience in response to such life situations causes a diminishing e of our personal power. This can happen in a subtle manner on the one hand, or in a catastrophic, life-shaking way on the other like losing your job, and in the process losing your livelihood. When we experience dis-empowerment, or “power loss,” it affects our energetic matrix, rendering us vulnerable to illness.

Fear

The second classic cause of illness is fear. A person who is walking around with a chronic sense of fear gnawing away at them is doubly vulnerable to illness because their anxiety aggressively and progressively diminishes their sense of well-being, and this, in turn, affects their feeling of being safe in the world.
This sense of well-being is the base upon which our personal health system stands. When this foundation is affected negatively, it diminishes the ability of our immune system to function. And when our immune system goes down, we’re in trouble.
It’s not too difficult to see that there is a feedback mechanism at work here. Fear, and the anxiety it creates, produces disharmony. In the same breath, disharmony generates fear, and if the two of them are working together, it doubly affects the protective mantle of the body’s immune system, as well as the energetic matrix. Illness is the inevitable result.
It is no surprise to Western medical practitioners that disharmony and fear can manifest themselves in diseases that are recognizable to science. Almost 500 years ago, the Renaissance physician Paracelsus observed that “the fear of disease is more dangerous than the disease itself.”
This brings us to consider the third classic cause of illness–the phenomenon known to indigenous healers as soul loss.i-am-by-amy-elyse-stringer-london

Soul Loss

Among the traditional, soul loss is regarded as the most serious diagnosis and the major cause of premature death and serious illness, yet curiously, it’s not even mentioned in our Western medical textbooks. The closest acknowledged context is “He/she has lost the will to live”.
In Western society, soul loss is most easily understood as damage to a person’s life essence, a phenomenon that usually occurs in response to trauma. When the trauma are severe, this may result in a fragmentation of that person’s soul cluster, with the shattered soul parts dissociating, fleeing an intolerable situation. In overwhelming circumstances, these soul parts may not return.
The causes of soul loss can be many and varied. There may be traumatic perinatal issues that happen around the child’s birth experience such as arriving into life only to discover that they are not wanted, or that they are the wrong gender—they’ve come in as a girl when everyone was hoping for a boy.
Soul loss can also occur when a child is mercilessly bullied or teased at home or at school, day after day, or when a young person is molested by the one who is supposed to be caring for them. When someone has been raped or assaulted, has suffered a shocking betrayal, a bitter divorce, a traumatic abortion, a terrible car accident, or even a serious surgery, soul loss is assured.
Many of the young men and women who were sent to war in Afghanistan, Iraq, Kuwait, Vietnam, Korea and beyond, came home personally damaged because they had suffered terrible soul loss. Our medical specialists labeled their disorders as post-traumatic stress syndrome, but they had little to offer these “walking wounded” in terms of true healing, and many who survived are still deeply traumatized at the soul level by what happened to them in war.

Symptoms of Soul Loss

Soul loss is easily recognizable if you know what you’re looking for. Here’s a checklist of some of the classic symptoms:

  • feelings of being fragmented, of not being all here.
  • blocked memory–an inability to remember parts of one’s life.
  • an inability to feel love or receive love from another.
  • emotional remoteness.
  • a sudden onset of apathy or listlessness.
  • a lack of initiative or enthusiasm.
  • a lack of joy.
  • a failure to thrive.
  • an inability to make decisions.
  • an inability to discriminate.
  • chronic negativity.
  • addictions.
  • suicidal tendencies.
  • melancholy or despair.
  • chronic depression.

Perhaps the most common symptom of soul loss is depression. In the early 1990s, Time magazine did a cover story on depression in America that revealed 60 million Americans were taking anti-depressant drugs on a daily basis, representing about 30% of our population.
Today that number is closer to 80 million, representing about 40% of society at large, and sometimes that number jumps in response to a national trauma. On the Friday following 9/11, a television newscast revealed that 7 out of 10 Americans polled were experiencing significant depression in response to the tragedy, an indicator of soul loss on a national scale.
Although the term “soul loss” is not familiar to most Westerners, examples of it are expressed daily in our language and descriptions of personal hardships. Media interviews and news reports include individuals’ comments such as “I lost a part of myself when that (trauma) happened” and “I have not been the same since.” When discussing soul loss with inquiring individuals, most everyone has a sense of having lost a “part” of themselves at some time in life, yet virtually no one has the awareness that the missing part(s) could be recovered. They can.

Why not to take Ayahuasca?

Sanango , Izabal, Guatemala

aya

Thank you so much hermano Sanango from the Sinchi Runa Center in Izabal, for this beautiful article. I totally agree with him on the need for a good preparation, a deep personal understanding of the process, a good mental and physical health state and lots and lots of transparency in the communication with the facilitator/assistant. Each of this parts are important for the success of a session. For the integration I watched the following: with every day you spend in a loving self-embrace; with smoothing, self-love evoking, balancing and harmonizing music; breathing deeply and consciously, while planting seeds of positive thought pattern – the deeper roots of your past (this and every other life on the spiral dance of creation), your destructive pattern and emotional body, the medicine can reach and shift in vibration. This can go on for days and days after the ceremonial encounter – totally depending on your invested degree of awareness, attention, devotion, surrender and passion. REMEMEBER – we talk about engaging in a relationship with a spirit!
I saw similarity in our few about finding the right helper match, which made me smile. I believe in guidance and the good of obeying the free will! So for me it is: 1st let the medicine call you! Feel a pull – in best case more than one’s – feel attracted, sense passion that comes from within, sense nervousness similar to stage fright….All of this are excellent signs of a “call” from your spirit guides. As next step, you can take full responsibility for yourself by clearing deep inside, what you might need in your servant. From there you are well equipped, to choose – from the heart – your work partner for the process. As a last step: with your feet on the ground, make a leap of faith, trust your choice of person and trust the process! 🙂
I found myself laughing out loud, when he calls the Ayahuasca a “des hallucinatory substance” :-).. AHO – I soooo agree!! The nice colors, the geometries and sounds are lovely and amazing also very good for the emotional body – as they are of high vibration and can fill up our “feel good account”. But they are barely a blue print of each individuals soul potential . A blueprint that wants to be manifested into our materialized world – in the alchemical wedding of your spirit in human action. The deep healing, the creational existence of self, the endlessness, we find in the layers beyond.
Isn’t it funny, that even the physical body in compressed form proves to contain 99% emptiness :-)…

There are many indications against taking ayahuasca. At the physical level, the most important is a major cardiovascular disorder. Problems could be caused not so much through the biochemical action of the brew, but through the stress caused by the intense work or circumstance that might come with the session. An ayahuasca session is a great opportunity, but demands a lot of mental and physical strength, for which it is important to have a history free of cardiovascular complications.

At the mental level, there are individuals with serious emotional problems that may hinder the dynamic of the session. These emotional problems can be expressed in daily life by uncontrollable impulses, states of explosive anger or deep states of loss of control. If the participant suffers from so-called black outs or have been diagnosed with a psychiatric mental disorder, a prior personal consultation is needed before the session to evaluate the inner state.

Moreover, there are situations such as addictions or consumption of psychiatric drugs to take into account. If the participant is using any kind of substance, it is very important to have a prior detoxification period. This is preferably done in the center that will realize the ayahuasca session. The use of substances such as cocaine or dopamine stimulants requires a detox period that can vary from 15 to 30 days before the intake of the plant. If the participant discards this indication and wishes to attend a session without disclosing data regarding these issues, it signifies a lack of understanding. Such a participant does not realize the type of medicine that ayahuasca is and will not be ready to participate in a session.

The attitude of the participant seeking their own search for truth, trust, transparency towards himself and to the process, is the most important thing in front of an ayahuasca session or any kind of spiritually based healing.
If the participant is not clear of what type of process he is approaching and has information based only through the impact of online videos, seeking a psychedelic experience or only expecting to receive lights and colorful shapes that can cause great excitement. If the expectation is a spectacular trip or a magic potion, the participant should not drink ayahuasca.

It is important to understand that the mission and spirit of ayahuasca is to heal through comprehension. The great opportunity of humanity with this entheogen is to surpass the barrier of the mind and go beyond the illusion of the state of alertness to obtain wisdom of the universe.
Ayahuasca is not an hallucinogen, is a des hallucinatory substance. Ayahuasca is a portal to the essence of humanity, a portal where memories of the species can be opened. This opening can bring understanding of the higher self and the purpose of each one, not only as an individual, but as humanity. Ayahuasca is a chance to heal the soul and reach the truth that lives within each one.

It is very important that the guide is honest and truthful. Do not take ayahuasca with guides who have new age speeches or messianic ideas. Make sure that the guide or facilitator is not improvising and that has really done a deep work of personal comprehension or a discipular spiritual path. It is advisable to analyze the ethical level of the guide or facilitator, the profusion of “shamans”, “avatars”, “guardians of the medicine” and other bizarre characters is something to avoid when choosing where and with whom to take ayahuasca. An apparent native guide or facilitator does not guarantee anything. Not be swayed by prejudice or pre concepts, neither believe in “shamans”, “natives”, who lives in cities or that are characters full of names or egotistical self-imposed titles.

If you have financial constraints, it is best to wait to fix them. Never make a decision based on finding the cheapest option. Do not trust sessions that only ask for a “collaboration” or are “free”, these are usually desperate acts of the guide or facilitator and is generally a lack of transparency. It is recommended to not do sessions carried out in cities or proceeding from them, in which the guide or facilitator is a multi-task professional.

ayahuasca

A genuine ayahuasca ceremony requires a prior preparation, a purge and a preliminary assessment. It is recommended that ayahuasca sessions be done preferably in a center in the jungle or in the countryside where the participant can disconnect from the everyday world. It is recommended to rest after the experience and make the space to take it seriously.
If the participant has a big schedule which is more important compared to the healing process and the session is one of the many experiences of the itinerary, the participant definitely should not take ayahuasca.

The participant must make a careful choice, free of cultural preconceptions, making the proper space and having the respect it deserves. If the previous points are not taken into account, one should not take Ayahuasca.
The best practice to decide where and with whom to do a session is to listen to one’s heart. It is easy to see who is real or not, this is very important when making this decision.

The participant has a decision to make this experience a chance of understanding something far beyond anything imagined. It’s the opportunity to open the heart, mind and being to the universe. The session is an opportunity to heal and be healed through the compassion of the universe. If the participant reaches humility and pureness of heart, it may understand the most important thing of their existence.

Food and the Illusion of Separation

fhsdjIn Mastering the Grand Illusions Part 7 we learn about the illusion of separation. Ekara tells us that there really are only two states the mind knows: fear or desire. Fear or Desire. Same energy, one supposedly negative and the other positive. They show up in different frequencies and vibrations according to what suits the mind in that moment.
Contemplate this for a moment… Only two states. You’re either pulled towards it or you want to run away from it as fast as you can. You either want something or you don’t. It’s quite staggering that those two poles of that same energy basically determine how we perceive reality.

As ascension students we are expected to drop our habits and our patterns. Some are so deeply imprinted on our DNA – after all we have come in with the same personality construct in place for many, many, many incarnations – that they will show up time and time again.

orange-dna-strandMany of those deeply engrained patterns and habits congregate around food. Food is part of the illusions of form and separation, the belief system of a physical body needing sustenance from an external source in order to survive.

To help us go beyond our patterning, we have changed our eating habits with the guidance of our teachers. Ascended Life has found that when that is left up to the individual, it occupies our minds too much and distracts from what this path is really about: ascension.

When you start observing your habits around food, you can see how patterned up you truly are, how you’re driven by desires, cravings, likes and dislikes. Processed food is aimed at feeding those cravings and creating addictions to certain substances to keep you dumbed down. It’s just one of the ways the system firmly pushes the lid on expanding consciousness.

I am one of these ascension students who has a “food thing”. I love everything connected with food and the preparation thereof. There is nothing about food that the personality doesn’t like – and that is what I have to let go of because there just is too much focus on something that will eventually go anyway.

There are a few things I recently learned that I’m sure not many people know, which gave me a much deeper understanding of just how much we are programmed when it comes to our eating habits. One thing that really floored me is the fact that archetypes live in fat cells. The chubbier you are, the more archetype infested you are, and the more difficult it becomes to stay or even become conscious. Obviously, when you eat more, your cravings and addictions increase, making it even more difficult to step away from that.

And so a vicious cycle ensues.

4296843Human bodies are not designed to be fat; they’re supposed to be lean with supple muscles tissue and flexible joints. Look at indigenous people in South America for example that still live close to Gaia. They eat little but what they eat is healthy and gives them all the energy they need. No fat people among them.

I feel very blessed to live in the southernmost part of Europe. If you ask me, it’s the perfect place to be able to buy the freshest fruit and produce grown locally in this beautifully sunny and warm climate of the Algarve. And you won’t find fresher fish anywhere on the planet. Everything here is geared to making it easy for us to switch to a much healthier lifestyle. No processed food enters our kitchen.

So these days, we eat what the body needs rather than what it wants. Oatmeal or fruit for breakfast, a little snack, and vegetables or rice and chicken or fish for dinner. No gravies so we learn to appreciate the food in its purity again, as all the extras are only feeding the cravings coming from our program. Also, we don’t determine when we eat.

That’s when you really start seeing your patterning. In the first few weeks, the body signaled to me an almost 24/7 feeling of hunger. It’s interesting that when you’re not in charge of when you eat, your brain will create the feeling of being hungry much earlier and on a much more sustained level, as opposed to when you determine your meal times yourself. It’s all illusion. I’ve also noticed in the beginning that whatever the body got fed, it was never enough. This alone should have rung alarm bells as it is being given all the energy and nutrients it needs. However, it was not being used to eating a lot less and there was a constant “lack alert”.

This, fortunately, has started to subside a little, especially because I know that all of that is coming from programming – mental attacks to pull me out of consciousness. The lack alert is still there. It’s a craving to eat more, telling me that the portions I eat are not big enough to sustain me even when the stomach is full! It’s crazy. I’ve learned to dismiss these thoughts a lot quicker now. Still they try to come in.

downloadThe lack program also kicked in in the form of an almost compulsive need to compare my portion to the ones around me. I mean, really? I’m almost ashamed to admit this, but especially at the start of our new food scheme it really tried to feed me the thought of pulling at the shortest end. I put that one in Amber’s dumpster! Nasty program, that one, and as ridiculous and illusory as all the others.

Then there are the cravings. They’ve also started to subside but still come in from time to time. The silly thing is, they’re about nothing in particular, just food. Anything really. This tells me again how deeply these patterns have nestled themselves in the mind.

And this is exactly why we had to change our eating habits. Now that these addictions, habits, cravings, and belief systems are finally all drifting up to the surface, they can be seen and let go of. They have nowhere to hide anymore. Rather than perceiving lack, I’m opting for seeing their surfacing as a relief.

Admittedly, there is quite some awareness and focus involved to ditch these thoughts as soon as they come in. It’s worth the effort and it gets easier and easier and the thoughts are weaker now every time.

I’ve come to appreciate food in a very different way. As the tastebuds have become accustomed to “plain” food, they’ve learned to pull out subtle flavors long forgotten. We eat much more consciously. It has become a mediation for me, savoring every bite, sending my gratitude to Gaia for nourishing my body in such a delicious way. Life force food.

Our teachers know what they’re doing. As long as we’re still caught up in the illusions, this new way of dealing with the personality’s eating habits feels like a blessing in many ways. We’re not deprived of anything. Instead, we’re getting the best nutrients the body needs to stay healthy and in good shape. As I said in the beginning, we eat what our physical vessel needs rather than what it wants.

maxresdefaultKuthumi once gave us a food exercise in the Divinity Manifest (which is part of the Imzaia Archives) in the teaching Return to Innocence, in which he explains a way to deal with the illusion of separation and food in a very different way:

You wake up and your let’s call it “external stomach” — because you think it is something that is just happening in the body — growls and you think, “I’m hungry and I need to put something external inside of me to make the external feeling of hunger stop”. Did you ever consider that the apple that you are eating as breakfast for instance is pouring out of you as well? And did you ever consider how ridiculous it looks to us when we see you creating the feeling of hunger and then going hunting for an apple or whatever it is that is already pouring out of you as well and then put that back inside of you on a physical level so that you could be satisfied? I know, I like the nonsensical field, but you people have made the Earth more nonsensical than the nonsensical field. Really!

Going back to the apple and the stomach and the feeling of hunger: It might be difficult for humanity, even for you at this stage, to just acknowledge that the feeling of hunger is an illusion. But how about you do a little experiment with the apple before you eat it? How about you find a quiet space next time you are hungry and you take your favorite food? It doesn’t matter what you take. It could be an apple. It could also be a snack. It could be chocolate. Actually I’m giving you the world’s best diet ever: You can eat anything without eating it! Let’s say an apple, and you put the apple in front of you and you sit down and you got the feeling of hunger and you don’t try to fight it. You just accept it. And you see that what the external mind is basically telling you is that there is a lack within you.

So the external mind creates the separation, the lack that you feel, and then the creation that you have created to take that feeling away again, namely the apple, is also separated from you so that you have to go through the trouble and through the negative experience basically of eating it. (I will explain in a minute why it is a negative experience). Instead of doing that, why don’t you put the apple in front of you and connect it to the feeling of hunger that you have and then you just let the energy flow back and forth?

You will see after a while of trying this that the feeling of hunger will go away. The apple will still be there. It will not vanish all of a sudden, but it will again come pouring out of you, you see? So the only thing to take the feeling of hunger away is to acknowledge that what you are about to eat is already within you – and I call it the world’s best diet, because you can do it with anything. You can actually do it with all these foods that you like but that would be bad for your body. They’re all the same energy anyway. Do it with the things you like most, but do not desire them. Just accept that they are already a part of you. In that way you can actually stop eating after a while.“

That’s an exercise worth practicing. Until we’ve got that under our thumb, we still eat – healthy, nutritious and delicious home cooked meals with lots of fresh, locally grown produce and fruit. What a grand way let go of a lot of patterns that don’t serve us anymore.

When I look at the rainbow of colorful fruits and vegetables stored in our garage, I feel abundance. When I cook oatmeal for everyone, I feel abundance. When we enjoy our meals together, I feel abundance. We are blessed indeed. All that patterning is just that, illusory figments of the mind. What counts is the burning desire of letting go of them all to allow the emergence of a new being, a conscious one.

And that is worth having to bat off anything that tries to pull us off our chosen vector of ascension.

Namaste,
Jasmine
