Graving Holistic Nutrition While Artificial Intelligence Enters The Food Industry

Dear Friends,
when Barbara Franken extended her invitation for me to take part in another of her magnificent e-book productions, I was very excited to hear that the theme the participants are discussing this year is “Artificial Intelligence vs. Consciousness”. During this wonderful time of quickly appearing changes and profound new manifestations on planet earth, designed to lead the whole collective of humanity into the Golden Age of Aquarius, we have to keep a close eye on ourselves and make sure that all our new creations truly serve this higher purpose.
Especially when it comes to achieving balance between a desperately needed ethical adjustment in our collective behavior, and the functionality of new systems for life on planet earth. The area of human life that I immediately thought of in this context, is the food industry.

Since quite some years now, I have been following documentations of the visible impact that gene-manipulated food is imposing on the health of human beings all over the world, with growing concern for the collective state of our nutrition. Than recently I run into an alarming article on the website, speaking about the use of artificial intelligence in the tomato growing industry of the United States of America.

What you read here is an expert of what the author Casey Kuhn has shared:
A huge greenhouse facility north of Willcox is growing tomatoes. But they’re not using traditional methods to produce the crops: they’re using artificial intelligence. This kind of high-tech farming will grow our future food. Walking into tomato company NatureSweet’s greenhouse is like walking into Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory. The long hall between the growhouses bustles with workers moving tomatoes and shouting directions. The general manager, Gustavo Vera, shows off the rows of tomato plants growing up and suspended on hooks. They’re heavy with nearly-ripe, green tomatoes. Vera explains how the eight-week process to get them to this point is done very carefully.

“Growing tomatoes is an art,” he said. “So the grower needs to balance out several conditions at the same time. This is going to revolutionize the industry, I believe,” Vera said. “Because what was an art, now has a data backup.”

Back in his office, Vera looks at a dashboard on his computer collecting data sent from the newly-installed cameras in the greenhouse. He points to different charts and numbers that are constantly changing. It looks like the flight deck of a science fiction space ship. But rather than star cluster maps, we’re looking at an overhead shot of the tomato growhouse we were just in. Instead of plants, they’re little dots in rows and rows.
Agriculture technology specialist Robyn Lawson said it’s not the kind of AI that can take over the world, “Artificial intelligence has such this negative connotation, I immediately think of all those sci-fi movies from Hollywood, and that’s not what’s happening,” she said.While I am personally inclined to believe the professional prediction that Robyn Lawson is giving, the fact that artificial intelligence is used at all in the production of nutrition, brings anyway out important doubts in me.On the united path that humanity collectively is taking to awaken into higher vibrations, the physical body is an individual vessel, given to us in order to experience the magic of being a human on this wonderful earth. This vessel is never disconnected, not from the essential energy sources of planet earth nor from the stellar system.
To the opposite, all of this natural sources are supposed to be part of a holistic approach for the nutrition of all human beings, and many people finally feel the need to take a closer look at how this truly works. Looking at the picture above we find that one factor is our active conscious relationship with the beauty and power of the sunlight, which is also reflected in a personal inner relationship to the golden ray of ascension – the radiation of our own pure soul vibration.

In my article “The Alchemy of Conscious Breathing – The Golden Path of Ascension”, I shared insides about the importance of raising the awareness for conscious connection with our individual breathing pattern and rhythm. As the breath is one of the constantly available sources in our nutrition. Another important part of our food is to actively take in the cosmic energies of divine guidance, which regularly are having an impact on our life. Further on the list is a loving contact with mother earth and the electromagnetic field that is radiating from our planet, sending out strength to all beings standing on it. And essentially, the amount of energy we can exchange with life on a daily basis, is connected to how much we practice holding an open / clear inner channel of awareness and devotion.

You might ask yourself now what all of that has to do with the use of artificial intelligence, and the answer is simple. The process of growing food has to continually include human care, in order to bundle all this nutrition factors thru the channel that the human body is, into the vessel that a vegetable body is. As soon as the heart and breath of a human being is involved, the alchemist in this person is merging with the alchemist in the plant spirit, creating together the wholeness and harmony a holistic nutrition truly needs. Personally I am even convinced that the major reasons that we experience organic fruits and vegetables as much more tasty than plant produced ones, apart from the healthy earth, is that many more hours of human effort go into organic production. Therefor it tastes like love to us :-). So all in all, I guess my approach is the same as always when I look at a collective challenge to solve. We are not living in an “either/or world”, wholeness is achieved by uniting polarities. We created already the technologies to take over all our work load, now we can use the remaining time to meditate on the food we are producing, so it may grow even stronger and more nutritious – in the illumines light of our loving gaze!! That’s a valuable Golden Age solution I can support :-).

When Nature Heals – Trees That Transform Us In Exchange For A Hug

the last few days we talked a lot about the loving heart of nature, and the importance it has for the future of all human beings, that we again develop a healthy and balanced relationship with all forces of the nature kingdom. Just yesterday I mentioned, that the hermetic laws, the principles the universe is build on, demand from every tree that wants to reach heavens, to have deep and healthy roots first. And in this case we are not different from our nature brothers. The higher we seek to rise in our frequencies, the more it is important that we Stay Grounded And Blissful in everyday life.
As we are brothers and sisters in essence, trees can be incredibly helpful in this process and even ease our pains. When I ran into this article from the page soy espiritual on how different trees heal us in exchange for a hug, I could not resist translate it for you! I hope this insides and information about our friends the trees will inspire you to seek a loving relationship with them. In Taoism and in many cultures worldwide, trees are regarded as the vertical axes of all life on earth. When we sensitize with that energy, seek to awaken our body and consciousness toward it, than that creates a learning and healing practice which leads us to meet our original energy, and to connect us with a sense of internal cleansing.
Many of the physical problems human beings have, especially the ones who are living in cities, would actually disappear with a simple walk in nature. Formerly it was believed that each tree had its own spirit with a special energy that can be passed on to us, and people are seeking this energy to achieve balance.4The benefits of hugging a tree are countless, mysterious, but easy to verify if we pay attention. If we observe them and communicate with them, while watching them silently. Trees help us to easily establish contact with the powers of nature in a beautiful way, while we relax and fill ourselves with pure life energy.
Tao books like the Mantak Chia and the Chia Maneewan talk about, how throughout history humans have used all parts of the trees as a remedy to cure. And they came to some interesting conclusions about the different trees and their abilities to heal humans. In general, large trees are those that contain the most energy. Among this healing family, some of the most powerful trees are growing next to running waters. Some are warmer and some are colder in energy than others. You have to practice, to distinguish the different properties of the several trees.

This is a list of 14 tree species that help us heal the physical body, when we allow ourselves to get lost in their embrace:
1.) Pines are the best trees to consult for healing. Pines radiate life energy “Chi”, they nourish the blood stream, strengthen the nervous system and help overall to prolong human life. They also feed the soul and spirit. Pines are known as the “Immortal Trees”. The ancient Chinese poetry and paintings are full of admiration for the magic of the pine trees.

2.) The cypresses and the cedar trees reduce heat from the body and nourish our yin energy (the divine feminine).

3.) Willows help eliminate unhealthy winds, support to relieve body moisture, reduce high blood pressure and strengthen the urinary tract as well as the bladder.

4.) The elms soothe the mind and strengthen the stomach.

5.) Maple trees release unhealthy winds from the digestion system and help ease their pain.

6.) The white acacias help eliminate internal heat and balances the temperature of the heart.

7.) The banyan trees cleanse the heart and help remove moisture from the body.ghffjn8.) The cinnamon trees eliminate cold on the heart and the abdomen.

9.) The firs help eliminate cardinals, reduce swellings and heal broken bones faster.

10.) Thorn trees aid indigestion, strengthen the intestines and reduce blood pressure.

11.) Birches help remove heat and moisture from the body and help us detoxify.

12.) Plum trees nourish the spleen, the stomach, the pancreas and have a smoothing influence on the human mind.

13.) Fig trees remove excessive body heat, increased saliva, they nourish the spleen and help stop diarrhea.

14.) The ginkgo trees help us in strengthening the bladder and bring relive for female urinary problems.

Tip: To establish a relationship with a tree and to be in communion with it, simply look at it in silence and take in the healing energy that flows from the tree to you. Trust yourself and intuitively you will know what to do. You may put your hands on your cortex, hug the tree deeply or lean your back against it, with all the energy centers of your spine, than the trunk will fill you with energy. It’s really healing to experience, to live with intensity, this beautiful union with trees …. Stay clear – Clean your energy system from all bad vibes.

A Golden Age Of Aquarius During The Economic Crisis? The Prove It’s Possible

over the last few month you repeatedly heard me talking about the fact that for humanity to collectively enter the Golden Age of Aquarius, our ideas and concepts of leadership and community have to change. By now daily more people realize that the current paradigm of relaying to another and being with each other, does not really work for human beings, and needs to be adapted to the time and energy field we are living in. And while we where talking about how it works and what needs to change, a small Spanish town did the first steps!

Marinaleda is a small Spanish town in the province of Seville, Andalusia. The town is a self-identified social-democratic and cooperative municipality of 2,700 people on an area of 25 km2. The town is located at an altitude of 205 meters and lies 108 kilometers east of the provincial capital, Seville. The first indications of human settlement in the territory now covered by the Marinaleda municipality go back to the late Neolithic and Chalcolithic periods, about 5,000 years ago. Stone tools and traces of seeds and dwelling places have been found, that proved so.

In 1997 the Marinaleda S.C.A. Cooperative was founded to cultivate the farm collectively. Three years later, a food processing plant was set up, supplied by the raw materials of the cooperative: piquillo pepper, beans, artichokes and olives. An oil press was also built. Production continued to increase, and employment along with it. In 2008 the economic crisis that began to affect the European Union by 2010, particularly in the southern countries. While 30% of the active population in Andalusia was without work, Marinaleda had full employment.

And while we were struggling for land, for industry, for employment, we realized that there were other basic rights that had to be won. And the first necessity we identified was the lack of places to live, but we also realized that there was no place for our elders after so many years of hardship and troubles, nor was there a medical clinic, nor a day nursery, nor sports facilities, and the streets were unpaved and almost unlit.

By Social Democracy we mean unlimited access to all forms of well-being for the whole population of our village. We have always thought that liberty without equality is nothing, and that democracy without real well-being for real people is an empty word and a way to deceive people into believing they are part of a project when in fact they are not needed at all. It seemed to us that in this principle there should be no limits; that the people should have a dream of collective welfare and that it should be realized by struggle, because no popular aspirations, no matter how unreachable they may seem, can be rejected either in thought or in action by a genuinely revolutionary Left. In this way we were able to win each and all of the things that we were clearly lacking. – End of Quote

So this small community of just over 2,500 inhabitants seems a paradise: it is a village where unemployment does not exist and where to build a house is possible with 15 €, thanks to a cooperation based on economic system. Surrounded by kilometers of olive groves, green hills and golden wheat fields, which extend to the horizon, Marinaleda is a nice, quiet town; at first glance no different from all the other towns and villages that are located in the south of Spain.marinaleda2Where is the secret? Since the outbreak of the financial crisis of 2008 Marinaleda began to gain fame; and the mayor, Juan Manuel Sánchez Gordillo, who is also known as “Robin Hood of Spain” says the motto of his community is: not competition but cooperation.

Gordillo was elected mayor in 1979 and founded the economic policy of the city to work in the fields and on the processing industry: 70% of the population is employed in these activities, while the rest of the residents has taken jobs necessary in small businesses and the public institutions such as schools and offices. The result? While in Spain, unemployment is 30%, youth unemployment is at 55%, in Marinaleda they have 0%. The land belongs to the community and produces, stores and carries vegetables like peppers, artichokes and olive oil, there is also a mill and a factory of canned food. All employees receive the same salary as € 47 a day, regardless of the work, paid for the six working days, for a total of 1128 euros per month.
And there is even more: for all citizens a house of 90 square meters to build, in a really simple and with little paperwork.

Every citizen has to give a lead of just 15 euros (for the papers), while land and the project will be made available from the town hall, and the money interest by the Andalusian government borrowed interest-free, and the citizens themselves decide the monthly rate that is paid for the purchase, which only requires their labor.
Marinaleda also offers school canteens for 12 euros per month and a public swimming pool for only 3 Euro for the whole summer. The public areas are passionately and beautifully maintained by the citizens who commit themselves freely to this public service. “We need to rethink our values, the consumer society, the value that we gave to money, selfishness and individualism,” says Mayor Gordillo. “Marinaleda is a small example, and we want that this experience can be extended to the whole world”.imagesDear Ones, I hope hearing all this details about what others have managed to manifest into reality for their own little town already, will be inspiring for you to dream really big for yourself and yours,when you are creating your own Golden Age of Aquarius Community. How Our Body Provides Insides About Our Emotional/Spiritual Process

Dear Friends,
for weeks now I dropped again and again the hint, that it is more than ever important for us as a human collective, to regain a healthy and even spiritually connected relationship with the nature forces. Over the last weeks I mainly spoke about the integration of our higher self and all the
massive waves of higher consciousness, that we needed to translate into divine action. And I shared how even  pacha mama is working on adjusting and extending to this higher vibrations right now. And as we all know, the earth and our physical bodies are on! So when the planet is changing as profoundly as its happening right now, you can be sure our physical bodies are doing the same.
In many articles I talked about the change in our DNA to 12 strands, so we can hold a higher vibration of inner light within our physical bodies as well as in our light bodies. And every time when we make a big step in vibration, our bodies need to detox the impact of the past. While doing so, they provide insides about the emotions they release.

What are the natural excretion mechanisms?
The lungs: if you find yourself coughing right after an intense collective energetic impact happens, and at the same time you do not feel like you are actually sick, than it is easily possible your body reacts to the energies and detoxes. In case of the lungs we are talking on emotional level about the feelings of grief, sadness and regret. There is a simple formula to help yourself because, when we are exhaling carbon dioxide leaves our physical body and we detoxify, so conscious breathing is key – as simple as that. Most people breathe much too shallow, loose contact to their body feeling, when hanging out in confined air conditioned spaces. So go out into nature and breath deeply,and aware (techniques you find in the article above) if you want to help your body and spirit make a smooth shift!
A helpful Affirmation is: I now have the capacity to fully take in all sides of life. I Am joyful and live life to the fullest. woman-The skin: when ever we are talking skin, we are talking about boundaries, personally as much as collective. About knowing our personal inner measure, about finding out how we can give to our dearest ones and to society, while staying clear and firmly connected to our higher self’s guidance. So when you have more skin problems in a time of big collective shifts, than it can be an expression of calibrating the paradox, between the beauty of our collective oneness and the need for our individual, private “little self, space and time”. And for some of us, who recently made a leap in inner connection with the animal kingdom, it might be time to start using high quality cosmetic products. Products that are animal abuse free produced!!
A helpful Affirmation is: I lovingly protect myself with thoughts of purity, joy and peace.

The kidneys: are our only equal partner organs in the physical body. So it is just natural, that they are holding the energy for our love life and other human relationship interactions. The kidneys are telling us about how easy or not easy we can let go of things in our life, that clearly have passed their expiration date. They are asking us to find balance in our inner divine masculine and divine feminine powers. And the kidneys are holding one of our most beautiful and powerful paradoxes to release – the opposite of our deepest fears, together with the power, abundance and multi-dimensional expression – of our highest personal potential. So if your kidneys hurt these days, than give them a good rub with both hands, breath deeply and think of reaching your highest divine potential.
A helpful Affirmation is: I dissolve all past problems with ease and gratitude.

Dear Ones, I this insides will help you understand what your body is telling you about your personal release, on the big collective awakening path. I hope it helps you to tolerate the physical discomfort you might experience from time to time, and get into deeper alignment with your physical bodies wisdom and expressions. Understanding Universal Context – The Sacred Geometry Of Yoga

quite a while ago I shared this article about the Alchemy of Conscious Breathing and how it leads us to the Golden Path of Ascension. The teachings of this Golden Path are for many known as the guidance of the second divine ray of the highways of sound and light in the universe, that transmits to us the I AM awareness of our golden Christ Consciousness. Many Ascended Master have walked that path and helped extending the powers of our divine abilities that way. One of this Masters from the Golden Ray, most important for our collective awakening process right now, is the Ascended Masters for World Peace “Surya”. Surya is a God from the Hindu tradition, a world teacher from our sister planet Sirius and representative of the Great Central Sun. His 12 names as Sun God of the Hindus, as the 12 names of the Sun Prayer Yoga Positions.
This is a direct indication that in the profound teachings behind the physical positions, there are 12 keys to ascending our physical body into higher levels of consciousness. When we today create this bridge from the energetic field of Master Surya to the physical expressions of Yoga, we also need to be aware of the shapes and shades of Sacred Geometry that our bodies are building during the exercise. An awareness that leads the Yoga practitioner from the performance of rigid movements, to the deeper layers and blessings of the Yoga Path.

Constantly translating our divine origin into physical manifestation on planet earth, based on the process of photosynthesis, and created by the 5 Elements, known as the Platonic Solids. And this is where another Master comes in, the founder of today’s understanding of mathematics, Pythagoras. And where there is the energy field of Master Pythagoras, who uncovered the mathematical and geometrical basis for life, there is profound wisdom about sacred geometry and how it shapes, shifts and moves human life on planet earth.

In the picture above you can see the sacred shapes of the elements, in 3dimensional form. The one below shows ancient stone balls found in Oxford, in the shape of the Sacred Geometry of the Platonic Solids, which means the knowledge about the elements is around even much longer than any Yoga tradition.

Yoga practices in essence has the sense to integrate this knowledge of the multi-dimensional shapes of our inner sacred geometry, as a method of God Realization. This happens by creating thru conscious breathing a wider space in the physical body, so it can align with our light bodies higher vibration. When we now practicing the “sun salutation” cycle on a regular base, holding the awareness of all this insides in our mind while practicing, we can connect with a profound inner strength, improve our overall health and even experience Cosmic Consciousness that way.

Ashmolean-plato-solidsHere you can see which name is relate to which physical pose, and therefor what kind of energy frequency they are creating in your physical body. Be kind to yourself and don’t expect to much! Go step by step. Start of with just one part of it all. As soon as you are fluent in this part, you can start building up by adding for example the awareness of the divine Names to the mix. When this has settled in you can go on and hum, contemplate or sing the Gayatry Mantra during your conscious breathing and physical movement.

Allow me also to remind you again of the violet flame of transformation and transmutation. The Ascended Master Saint Germain and all the other representatives of the divine violet fire. Integrating the awareness of the violet flame of transformation into the flow of our practice, will increase the impact of our work even more. Be playful, give it a try and watch your divinity unfold within you!!!

Simplifying Childhood May Protect Against Mental Health Issues

a little while ago I shared a post about the changes in our society and how more and more young families are choosing to travel in order to educate their children. Also in the article something extraordinary is happening in the world right now, the same phenomena was mentioned. Last week we spoke about planting a seed of meditation and inner communion in our children, introducing our children to authentic spiritual expression, and supporting our children to develop faith for their life path, in which we received first insides how to help our children cultivate an inner relationship with their higher self. But as we know human beings are made of spirit and matter and so we heard in dirty kids equal healthy kids, how deeply important a loving contact with earth truly is for human beings.

When my Dad was growing up he had one jumper each winter. One. Total. He remembers how vigilantly he cared for his jumper. If the elbows got holes in them my Grandma patched them back together. If he lost his jumper he’d recount his steps to find it again. He guarded it like the precious gift it was. He had everything he needed and not a lot more. The only rule was to be home by dinner time. My Grandma rarely knew exactly where her kids were. They were off building forts, making bows and arrows, collecting bruises and bloody knees and having the time of their lives. They were immersed in childhood.Girl (3-5) playing in mudBut the world has moved on since then. We’ve become more sophisticated. And entered a unique period in which, rather than struggling to provide enough parents are unable to resist providing too much. In doing so, we’re unknowingly creating an environment in which mental health issues flourish. When I read Kim John Payne’s book, Simplicity Parenting one message leaped off the page. Normal personality quirks combined with the stress of “too much” can propel children into the realm of disorder. A child who is systematic may be pushed into obsessive behaviors. A dreamy child may lose the ability to focus.

Payne conducted a study in which he simplified the lives of children with attention deficit disorder. Within four short months 68% went from being clinically dysfunctional to clinically functional. The children also displayed a 37% increase in academic and cognitive aptitude, an effect not seen with commonly prescribed drugs like Ritalin. As a new parent I find this both empowering and terrifying. We officially have a massive opportunity and responsibility to provide an environment in which our children can thrive physically, emotionally and mentally.
So, what are we getting wrong and how can we fix it?

Early in his career, Payne volunteered in refugee camps in Jakarta, where children were dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder. He describes them as, “jumpy, nervous, and hyper-vigilant, wary of anything novel or new.” Years later Payne ran a private practice in England, where he recognized many affluent English children were displaying the same behavioral tendencies as the children living in war zones half a world away. Why would these children living perfectly safe lives show similar symptoms?
Payne explains that although they were physically safe, mentally they were also living in a war zone of sorts, “Privy to their parents’ fears, drives, ambitions, and the very fast pace of their lives, the children were busy trying to construct their own boundaries, their own level of safety in behaviors that weren’t ultimately helpful.”

Suffering with a “cumulative stress reaction” as a result of the snowballing effect of too much, children develop their own coping strategies to feel safe. Parents and society are conscious of the need to protect our children physically. We legislate car seats, bike helmets and hover in playgrounds. But protecting mental health is more obscure. But, sadly, we are messing up. Modern day children are exposed to a constant flood of information which they can’t process or rationalize. They’re growing up faster as we put them into adult roles and increase our expectations of them. So, they look for other aspects of their life they can control.jTHE FOUR PILLARS OF EXCESS
Naturally as parents we want to provide our kids with the best start in life. If a little is good, we think more is better, or is it? We enroll them in endless activities. Soccer. Music. Martial arts. Gymnastics. Ballet. We schedule play dates with precision. And we fill every space in their rooms with educational books, devices and toys. The average western child has in excess of 150 toys each and receives an additional 70 toys per year. With so much stuff children become blinded and overwhelmed with choice.
They play superficially rather than becoming immersed deeply and lost in their wild imaginations. Simplicity Parenting encourages parents to keep fewer toys so children can engage more deeply with the ones they have. Payne describes the four pillars of excess as having too much stuff, too many choices, too much information and too much speed. When children are overwhelmed they lose the precious down time they need to explore, reflect and release tension. Too many choices erodes happiness, robbing kids of the gift of boredom which encourages creativity and self-directed learning. And most importantly “too much” steals precious time.

Similar to the anecdote of the heat slowly being turned up and boiling the unsuspecting frog, so too has society slowly chipped away at the unique wonder of childhood, redefining it and leaving our kid’s immature brains drowning trying to keep up. Many refer to this as a “war on childhood”.
Developmental Psychologist David Elkind reports kids have lost more than 12 hours a week of free time per week in the last two decades meaning the opportunity for free play is scarce. Even preschools and kindergartens have become more intellectually-oriented. And many schools have eliminated recess so children have more time to learn.

The time children spend playing in organized sports has been shown to significantly lower creativity as young adults, whereas time spent playing informal sports was significantly related to more creativity. It’s not the organized sports themselves that destroy creativity but the lack of down time. Even two hours per week of unstructured play boosted children’s creativity to above-average levels.

So, how do we as parents protect our kids in this new “normal” society has created?
Simple, we say no. We protect our kids and say no, so we can create space for them to be kids. No, Sam can’t make the birthday party on Saturday. No, Sophie can’t make soccer practice this week. And we recreate regular down time providing a sense of calm and solace in their otherwise chaotic worlds. It provides a release of tension children know they can rely on and allows children to recover and grow, serving a vital purpose in child development.
We filter unnecessary busyness and simplify their lives. We don’t talk about global warming at the dinner table with a seven year old. We watch the news after our kids are asleep. We remove excessive toys and games from our toddler’s room when they’re sleeping. We recreate and honor childhood.momOur children have their whole lives to be adults and to deal with the complexities of life, but only a fleetingly short time in which they can be kids. Silly, fun loving kids. Childhood serves a very real purpose. It’s not something to “get through”. It’s there to protect and develop young minds so they can grow into healthy and happy adults. When society messes too much with childhood, young brains react. By providing a sense of balance and actively protecting childhood we’re giving our children the greatest gift they’ll ever receive.

Planting A Seeds Of Meditation And Inner Communion In Our Children

in my post of the last year, I have mentioned again and again the importance of the practice of prayer and meditation, as tools to enter a space of inner communion with the higher self. I shared how easy it is to turn everyday life activities into meditation by adding mindful awareness to them; posted a study from the University of Harvard on the impact of meditation on the brain; let you know about the success Schools in San Francisco have by adding meditation to their curriculum; and most importantly, I shared how it is even scientifically proofed that group meditation can change the energetic field of the entire world. And of course in many of my pieces I mentioned the effectiveness of prayer to the energies of the Ascended Master Realms.
Nearly a year ago I ran into this wonderful article describing how to pass on a sense for cultivating commitment and bliss in our daily practice of prayer. While reading the piece I realized, that the author speaks with such a beautifully open heart and from such deep insides into human nature, that sharing her piece is of big value for many. The article is a very long one, that is why I choose to only use excepts and share the knowledge in a trilogy starting today! The guidance was originally written for Muslim parents looking for a way to introduce their kids to the intense commitment of five prayers the day, but they are just as valuable for every parent looking to give their children a feeling for meditation and a mindful lifestyle. Teaching our children and teenagers to perform obligatory prayers, is a delicate and often stressful matter for families. What is the divine guidance on the matter? When and how is it best done? Parenting expert Hina Khan-Mukhtar sheds some light.

“How the heck do you get a teenage boy in public high school to care about not missing his prayer?”
It is a question that I’ve been asked more than once, and there has never been a simple, easy answer to give. The quickest and most honest one is to frankly admit that all guidance is a blessing and a mercy from God and none of us are in any real control of what our children choose to take — and not take — from our teachings.
But let’s face it — we all know that’s not what parents want to hear (even if they know it’s the truth). Parents are looking for tips and advice, some kind of handbook to follow, a checklist of do’s and don’ts. For the purposes of this article, I did sit down and reflect on what has brought us to where we are now after almost 18 years of raising sons, alhamdulillah (praise be to God). I write this article with the full knowledge that we are no experts; we are no authority figures; we are no success stories. We just happen to be parents who for whatever reason are blessed with children who choose to pray…for now.MeditatingI asked my kids what they think has helped make prayer a priority for them in their lives, and I informally interviewed some friends to get their insights as well. Here’s what has worked for our families so far, and we hope that our experiences may help others in turn, insha’Allah (God willing)…

1) For God’s sake (literally), leave those kids alone for the first 7 years!
You shouldn’t have any real expectations of them until after they are 7 years old. I still remember how I cringed when I once saw a well-meaning father pretty much forcing his 6-year-old daughter to join the congregational prayer. She kept running off, and he kept bringing her back, insisting that she fold her hands and stand silently by his side as he recited the Quranic verses aloud. His intentions were noble and sincere, no doubt, but the execution left much to be desired. It was painful to watch, and I remember hoping that his plans weren’t going to backfire on him one day. Another time, I heard a mother tell her son that “Allah will be mad at you if you don’t pray; the angels are writing down that you’re being a bad boy”, and it took all my willpower not to cry out loud, “Stop! Please don’t say that to your 5-year-old!”
What baffles most adults is trying to figure out how they are supposed to take the spiritual souls that have been placed under their care and then successfully prepare them for the lifelong duty of praying five times a day once their physical bodies have attained puberty.

In the early years, children should be allowed to join and leave the prayer at will, letting themselves get acclimated to the motions and the sensations of the ritual prayer at their own pace. Praying with the family should be an enjoyable experience — one that kids can partake in (or not) as much as they desire. Their association with prayer should be one of sweetness. I know one father who has all of his children share their duas (supplications) aloud one by one after the prayer is over so that everyone can join together in asking Allah (subhana wa ta’ala) to grant their siblings’ wishes. Once the duas are over, the kids often dissolve into tickling and wrestling matches while the father finishes up his supererogatory prayers on his own.

2) When the time for praying finally comes, go all out and make the initiation into prayer a celebration to remember! Treat it like an exciting honor, a real rite of passage.
When each of my boys turned 7 years old, I bought them beautiful journals which I gave to my friends and family to fill with inspiring messages about prayer. My parents and my in-laws each wrote messages to their grandsons, sharing their hopes and wishes for their futures with them. Older cousins wrote about how prayer helps them in good times and in bad; aunties and uncles gave advice on what helps them get through “prayer slumps” which — if we are truly honest — are bound to come in one’s life at some point or another. The general theme was one of encouragement and excitement. It’s been almost 10 years since I put together those gifts for my older two sons, and even now, I will sometimes catch them perusing their Prayer Books with smiles on their faces as they read the heartfelt messages to themselves.eZeeshan and I have found that slow and steady wins the race. When each of our sons turned 7 years old, we allowed them to choose one prayer that they wanted to take on as their daily commitment. The understanding was that — no matter what — the one prayer would never be neglected from that day (i.e. their 7th birthday) forward. If the boys wanted to pray any of the other prayers, that was all well and good, but it was their choice and we made it clear that we would not be monitoring them or holding them accountable.
Whether they were at a play date or in the middle of a shopping mall or at a swimming lesson, if the time for their prayer came in, they made sure to take a few minutes to complete it.We continued this routine for twelve months. When a year of praying one prayer on time had finally passed by successfully, we told the boys that they were now “qualified” to take on a second prayer. We treated it like an honor that only the most responsible could be trusted to handle! We told them that we were trying to teach them how to honor commitments, we knew that it took practice and discipline to do so, and we accepted that it was our job to slowly but surely teach them those tools for success. Using this method, all three of our boys were praying all five of their daily prayers by the time they were 9 1/2 years old, alhamdulillah. By age 10, prayer was an established routine.

During the course of writing this article, I asked my almost-16-year-old son Ameen why he prays all of his prayers on time, and he responded, “I don’t remember ever not praying, so I can’t imagine not doing it now. It’s a part of who I am.” My most fervent prayer is that he always feels that way. I am no fool; I know prayer is a gift and, if not treated with gratitude and humility, it can be lost at any moment. May Allah (subhana wa ta’ala) protect us from ever experiencing such a devastating void in our lives. Aameen. (Amen.)

What A Bi-Sexual Woman Learned From Dating Women Who Have Been Raped

I am sure you are all aware and feel yourself being in the middle of the quickly shifting paradigms in our human sexuality and collective society. About the roles man and women have played so far in society, and how they are changing profoundly right now. Thru the new born clarity, coming from the collective clearing of the first chakra in
December 15, many have already started to change their sexual behavior and understand what type of influence their former actions had on their life. And than just recently I shared the article called “Does it really matter if God is male or female“, where mainly the discussion was raised, what kind of damaging impact organized religion and social traditions had on the roe of the divine feminine in our world today. In this impressively honest report by Emma Lindsay, the author shares with us her experience of sexual assault and how long it took her to realize, that that is what actually happened. Why you might ask – because for women in our society it has become a state of “normality” to be harassed, depressed or insulted on a sexual level. And that is a fact that truly should make us think, as it can never be the base of a healthy world and a Golden Age of Humanity for us. As the author states in her piece – every woman has her own story – unfortunately there are not a lot of women, who’s story is without a nuance of sexual violence!!

I don’t know how I expected a rape victim to act, but I didn’t expect her to be so funny. Or to be punk, in this kinda sexy bleached blonde but kind of too lazy to really care sort of way. Or to be so up front. “I may be a lesbian because of what happened to me, I don’t know. It doesn’t really matter at this point.” I guess, maybe in some way, I didn’t expect her to be so over it. Part of me, unconsciously, believed people who had been raped were irrecoverably broken, and she wasn’t. Just my belief that once a woman has been raped, she has been destroyed. People aren’t destroyed through being raped though. They suffer immensely, but they are just as much themselves after the rape as before. I realized how I think of women who have been raped contrasts greatly with how I think of men who have experienced non sexual violence.
One of my male friends was standing outside a club when he was hit from behind. He fell down, and two guys came up and kicked the shit out of him before running away. I think that event changed him in some ways. Yet, when men get beat up, I don’t ever entertain the impression that some part of them may have been destroyed. (I actually think there may be an opposite problem, namely men not getting emotional support because we don’t take their trauma seriously. If a man’s behavior changes after an attack, we don’t use this as evidence to support an unconscious belief that he is broken. If you told someone that a man had learned jiu jitsu after being attacked, I think the vibe would be “well, that’s pretty reasonable.” If a bisexual woman decided to date only women after being raped, the vibe would be “oh, she’s broken.”

This belief in the “brokenness” of those who have experienced sexual trauma is highly damaging. None of us want to be broken. I don’t want to be broken. And, at least for me personally, this belief in the uniquely destructive power of sexual trauma prevented me from honestly confronting some of my more difficult sexual experiences.lA few years ago, I was out getting drunk with a bunch of male friends, and one of them offered to let me crash at his place. He was someone I trusted, someone I’d been friends with for years. When we got back to his place, suddenly he was all over me, and he’d managed to get his fingers into my vagina before I was able to physically restrain him. I remember confusion, and then shock at realizing his fingers were inside of me. And, I remember how he wilted when I stopped him. He shrank with shame, and I felt so guilty. I spent the night, but I couldn’t sleep, and slipped out at 6am after giving him a kiss on the head. Then, I brushed it off. I had years of therapy after that, and never brought it up because I didn’t think it was significant. Yet, there were a few differences. I didn’t like being touched anymore. I stopped dating men, and then stopped dating anyone. I lost all sexual desire, and have been single now for about a year and a half.

I also started meditating. “Crying” has been a big part of my meditation practice. Just, nameless, faceless crying with no discernible reason. I sat a meditation retreat for 7 days, and the first 5 days were spent crying. It was just like — this nameless sadness that seemed to have no bottom ran out, and where it had been there was nothing. Shortly after my retreat, I was reading a Savage Love where a woman talked about a male friend of hers trying to finger her when he was drunk. Dan Savage told her she’d been the victim of sexual assault or attempted sexual assault. And, when I read that, I was like “how can she have been sexually assaulted? That’s exactly like what happened to me, but I wasn’t…” So, I looked up sexual assault. Apparently if someone touches your vagina against your will, that’s sexual assault.
I pondered over that. I read about what happened emotionally to people who had been sexually assaulted, and a lot of it fit with my experience. The blocking it out. The justifying. The guilt, the aversion to touch, and hyposexual desire. They were all common responses from people who had been sexually assaulted. And, when I read about that, I felt relief. These mysterious things that I had been feeling had a source. Without that understanding, I think admitting to yourself that you have experienced sexual violence is harder, because you also have to think of yourself as “broken.”hStill, between the ages of about 12–14 already, I had been bombarded with so much sexual harassment that I had normalized the feeling of it. I knew I didn’t like it, but it didn’t feel strange. It felt familiar. In retrospect, I think I may have had an especially bad run because I am a bisexual woman. Bisexual women experience a disproportionately high amount of sexual violence compared to straight and lesbian women, and that innately makes sense to me. I was repeatedly singled out for sexual attention because I was bisexual and, as the only out bisexual woman in the grade, I was a single target for the many boys who were fascinated by female bisexuality. The idea that, if someone knew I didn’t want to do something sexual that they shouldn’t do it, was completely alien to me, and yet made total sense.

I always believed that because I was able to defend myself physically, I would be able to defend myself sexually, but that turned out not to be true. The night I was assaulted, after pulling his fingers out of my vagina, I saw how miserable my (I don’t even know what to call him? assaulter? friend?) my assaulter-friend looked, and I felt guilty. I was ashamed that I had caused him pain by denying him access to my body. I felt like there was something wrong with me for not wanting sex with him. I can see in different circumstances, another woman might have had sex with him out of guilt and the whole thing would have been deemed “consensual.” But, it happened so quickly, and I didn’t have to fight that hard to make it stop, that even now I find myself questioning was it actually assault?

What’s so sad about what I see is that it’s so normal. I don’t see myself as a victim in an otherwise safe society, I see myself as a completely normal and unremarkable member of the female gender. I see women who have experienced more violence than me, and women who have experienced less violence than me, but I don’t see women who don’t experience violence. The fact that some women have experienced more, worse sexual violence only means that they need more help not that I need less help or that my emotional response to a traumatic event is invalid. As I tell my female friends about my experience, basically all of them remember experiences when they felt similarly and just absorbed it. When I told my ex girlfriend (a lesbian who has only had sex with a man once) she was confused, and asked me why I hadn’t told her all this while we were dating. I said “it didn’t occur to me, it just didn’t seem unusual.” Because it’s not unusual.m

But, the fact that it’s not unusual doesn’t mean it’s not wrong.

This last one is, for me, the crux of the pain I have felt over the years. I have been expected to care for the feelings of men, who don’t care for my feelings. More than any explicit action, this societal expectation for me to provide nutrition to the very people who resent me has poisoned me. It requires my complete effacement, for me to deny the value of my own experience. It has required a betrayal of the most personal kind, and to recover from it necessitates re-learning one of the most basic human instincts.

My own suffering matters.

Beyond Vegetarian: One Man’s Journey in Search of the Moral Meal

so many of us, who are on their personal path of awakening to inner truth, have a moment in time when we are struggling with our nutrition. So many concepts, dogmas and illusions are spread around the topic of feeding our body – in an at the same time mind and soul feeding way. Over the last few weeks I had many conversations about what authentic self-nurturing might be our choices of the future. So I found it very interesting to run into this article about the activist Daniel Zetah, and read what path he went.
If you have not heard about him before, after he quit a US government job, Daniel Zetah spent years living in Tasmania as freegan, he was a full-time environmental activist, then a permaculture student, then a natural builder, sailed the seas on an anti-whaling ship that uses direct-action tactics to confront illegal whaling ships (called The Sea Shephed), and played a very active role in Occupy Wallstreet. On his personal journey of awakening including ten years of living vegetarianism, he now is a farmer, a full time … and a big-time carnivore. How it came that
he found his authentic truth in farming and eating his own animals, he shared in an amazing article! I hope you enjoy this extract of the very long piece just as much as I do!

Would you describe yourself as a long-time farmer and environmental activist?
Not at all. I used to be a redneck. I used to race cars and motorcycles and snowmobiles… I was a motorhead. I don’t want people to think I was always like this, because then they’re like “oh, they were just brought up that way by parents that…” it’s like no, no: I was raised by wolves. Until I was in my early 20s I ate nothing but crap. Like, garbage, American supermarket food. When I would go shopping, I was literally after the cheapest calories I could possibly find at the supermarket.hobart-300x225When did that start to change?
Well, I met a girl that I ended up getting married to and she was vegetarian, and so I started eating a vegetarian diet. Which is still completely disconnected and completely clueless as to what your eating and where it’s from, it’s just you’re not eating meat. I ate tons of grain, lots of dairy and cheese, even eggs, but just no meat… And that’s where I was at for probably a good eight years, until my early 30s.
But then I met a guy in Tasmania that basically just said “Dude, what are you doing?” and kind of told me in a very blunt manner that my actions did not match my rhetoric in a lot of areas of my life, including my dietary choices. His words were as sensitive as a sledge hammer but I couldn’t refute what he was saying. It was tough… but, like…
A lot of people, when you tell them a truth that goes against their reality, they get pissed off, because their egos can’t handle it, and so they want to dismiss what the person said… but I couldn’t do that in this situation. I was just clueless and when this guy gave me a clue, I couldn’t return to being clueless. So at that point, I started looking at labels of everything that I was eating. It’s like, ‘whoa okay, so now I’ve got to worry about this and this and this… ‘ and it was a rabbit hole. The more I learned about what was actually destructive to the environment or my body, the more I had to look for on labels, and after a time I couldn’t actually shop at the supermarket anymore because there was nothing I could eat there in good conscience, and then I started shopping at the food co-ops, and then I ended up as a two-year freegan – freeganism.

What were you doing at the time?
I had quit my job working for the state government as an auditor/prosecutor for chemical spraying operations in Tasmania and had become a full-time environmental activist, because when I started going down this rabbit hole and learning more about peak oil and climate change I was like, ‘oh God!’ Here I was, just a couple of years ago being completely clueless, and then this guy told me this stuff, and now I have the responsibility of the world on my shoulders, to tell everybody what I know, and I just thought at the time that it was literally a lack of awareness by people, and that if people like me would just get out and talk enough that it would all be okay, but I had no idea that it wasn’t a lack of information, it was just a lack of willingness to change.

Well I guess that path led to learning more and more and more, and realizing, that while there is no hard rule for what a human being should eat, or what the perfect diet is, in terms of minimizing suffering of other beings, there is an ideal diet for each region and each situation, and where I chose to farm, which is south-central Minnesota, well that bioregion was a tall-grass prairie/ oak savanna biome, and that oak savanna biome evolved over hundreds of thousands of years with grazing animals as an integral part in it. And so I realized that I wanted to gain as many of my calories from that perennial ecosystem as possible, and in this biome, I can do that with some vegetables that we grow in a diverse garden; wild edibles like wild greens, berries, nuts, fruit; and with meat!
Again the original article is much longer here!And what I want to see is systems that are going to mimic natural systems and be good for everything, not just the humans or the domesticated animals, but the wild species as well. I want to see food that is grown in those systems in harmony with an intact ecosystem. I’ve traveled enough and seen enough things grown around the world to know that even organic food, most of it, 99% of it, is grown in monocultures. Go out to California and see the organic almond orchards that go for miles and miles with not one other species in the mix. It’s just those trees, there’s no biodiversity at all, all of the native animals are gone, because all of their habitat is gone. That’s not sustainable, that is not ethical, it’s just bad. But because technically they’re not spraying toxins…
