In Deep Humility We Develop True Greatness

1by Edith Boyer-Telmer

Dear Friends,
we are collectively growing very quickly these days, and at the same time we are individually challenged to integrate our personal growth into the greatness of our I AM presence. A virtue we all need to develop, in order to reach the manifestation of the Golden Age of Aquarius together, is humility. Now humility is in general defined as the quality of being humble. Sounds simple, but what does it mean? What is needed in order to experience ourselves truly connected to the feeling of humbleness? Let’s see what wisdom humanity has collected so far on the topic:

“Modern life seems to recede further and further away from nature, and closely connected with this fact we seem to be losing the feeling of reverence towards nature. It is probably inevitable when science and machinery, capitalism and materialism go hand in hand so far in a most remarkably successful manner. Mysticism, which is the life of religion in whatever sense we understand it, has come to be relegated altogether in the background. Without a certain amount of mysticism there is no appreciation for the feeling of reverence, and, along with it, for the spiritual significance of humility. Science and scientific technique have done a great deal for humanity; but as far as our spiritual welfare is concerned we have not made any advances over that attained by our forefathers. In fact we are suffering at present the worst kind of unrest all over the world.”
― D.T. Suzuki

“Humility has nothing to do with depreciating ourselves and our gifts in ways we know to be untrue. Even “humble” attitudes can be masks of pride. Humility is that freedom from our self which enables us to be in positions in which we have neither recognition nor importance, neither power nor visibility, and even experience deprivation, and yet have joy and delight. It is the freedom of knowing that we are not in the center of the universe, not even in the center of our own private universe.”
― David F. Wells

“I believe that the first test of a great man is his humility. I don’t mean by humility, doubt of his power. But really great men have a curious feeling that the greatness is not of them, but through them. And they see something divine in every other man and are endlessly, foolishly, incredibly merciful.”
― John Ruskin

“Be careful not to mistake insecurity and inadequacy for humility! Humility has nothing to do with the insecure and inadequate! Just like arrogance has nothing to do with greatness!”
― C. JoyBell C.hu“Have more humility. Remember you don’t know the limits of your own abilities. Successful or not, if you keep pushing beyond yourself, you will enrich your own life – and maybe even please a few strangers.”
― A.L. Kennedy

“You’re allowed to practice humility while also owning your greatness. Don’t you dare minimize your greatness.”
― Erica Alex

“The beauty of wisdom lies in simplicity and humility.”
― Debasish Mridha

“Thank you” is the best prayer that anyone could say. I say that one a lot. Thank you expresses extreme gratitude, humility, understanding.
― Alice Walker

“Who is more humble? The scientist who looks at the universe with an open mind and accepts whatever the universe has to teach us, or somebody who says everything in this book must be considered the literal truth and never mind the fallibility of all the human beings involved?”
― Carl Sagan

“There is nothing noble in being superior to your fellow man; true nobility is being superior to your former self.”
― Ernest Hemingway

“The seeker after truth should be humbler than the dust. The world crushes the dust under its feet, but the seeker after truth should so humble himself that even the dust could crush him. Only then, and not till then, will he have a glimpse of truth.”
― Mahatma Gandhi

“A true genius admits that he/she knows nothing.”
― Albert Einstein5Dear ones, when you are contemplating your own doing in this world, also think of  C. S. Lewis words “Humility is not thinking less of yourself, it’s thinking of yourself less”. Be kind and compassionate with yourself and others, that gives space for all of us to grow into our true potential and loving higher self.Love and Blessings!
